Surge is going to be awful with this one. A huge, slow moving storm. Hard to believe it's going to make landfall in the same place Hurricane Charley did in 2004. 18 years is a long time but it's not long enough to deal with your town getting torn apart by a hurricane twice.

It was good for future research to get one within radar range. The eye hasn't cleared out on IR yet. Ian is having to work to fight off the mid level dry air to the west. You can see how it's whittling away some of the moisture on the western side.
