@FLBooGoTigs1 how concerned are you about flooding and power in North St Johns County? We just moved here and I'm a bit nervous since it's our first hurricane season since we got wrecked by Michael. We're not quite as baller as you, settled in Durbin Crossing after losing a few bidding wars in Nocatee.

Did the woman get knocked over?
She did right when I clicked on it. The guy was luckily holding her hand.

I'm big worried about the people who survived Charlie there and think this is going to be the same.
The water situation isn't close to comparable.
Charley will end up being a bigger wind event for the very localized spot where it made landfall. Charley's eye was something like 5 miles wide and it was at max intensity at landfall. But it was small, fast moving and won't push nearly the water Ian will. Key West is already showing surge will be a problem. They're not even all that close to the center.

My son lives a couple of miles from you. I’m worried about him.

They were laying up against it with their cameras out I’m sure recording for social media.

It's coming. Nice contraction as it completed the cycle.

Ian is having to work to fight off the mid level dry air to the west. You can see how it's whittling away some of the moisture on the western side.
Ian's been getting pushed on that side since late this afternoon. Feeling that subtropical jet start increasing in intensity. I do wonder how much of that dry air could work it's way into the core as that push continues.

R2D2's cousin better be careful out there.

Yeah, but the real question is idiot tourists or idiot Florida Man(s)?

You're a Florida Man once you cross the state line, even if you don't know it yet.

Durbin Crossing is in a good area I have friends there I do not recall any flooding from Irma or Michael. Most of the flooding from the last few hurricanes have been coastal locations. You should get some good gusts of winds and some heavy rain bans but you should be fine. Welcome to the area

I'd say it already is. Key West radar has been clutch the past day. You can see how little precip in on the southern and eastern side of Ian. Some of the precip on the southern side close to the core is simply "disappearing". V wedge of a lack of precip between Key West and the core.

Summerland Key, farther East than Key West, is currently reporting storm surge issue, too.

I don't mean to act like I'm not worried about the people in Key West, but I wonder how the Hemingway Cats are doing. They sort of just free roam about the area.
