It's going to suck for a long time but they keep rebuilding Grand Isle so no reason to think they wont rebuild AMI, LBK and Lido.

If I had to guess, the future will look more like 30A ad not the quaint town it currently is. You could already see that change happening with the newer mid island and bayside homes.

LBK would probably be rebuilt as is, but AMI/Holmes Beach/Bradenton Beach is a different story.

It’s also a straight shot up my street uphill to 275. So I’m fairly sure I will have the ability to leave after the storm if it comes to that.

You're assuming the roads will be passable and not full of debris. Not trying to be a dick, but it's obvious you have no idea what is coming your way and the magnitude of destruction that will surround you.

You are going to lose contact with people for atleast a few days. Possibly longer. I wouldn't stay if you can manage it. I understand the thinking but you very likely aren't going to be able to help much at all unless you own chainsaws and other equipment to clean out debris

At what point are you likely stuck where you are, Wednesday night? Hoping they just decide to leave.

Up to the last minute you can get out, and the traffic will be down to nothing the closer to landfall we get

So what’s his plan when he surrounded by flood water and no electricity or generator?

People also said that for Harvey and some areas received over 60 inches.

I’ve seen enough to realize this notion that you’re gonna stay back and watch over things, is all but completely pointless. Your place is either gonna get wiped out or nothing happens and you’ll be able to get back to it eventually.

Take all valuables with you and kick the door in before you leave. File break in on insurance if your house survives. Get a check and keep valuables. Profit

If the landfall is Thursday around 1am, I would think dark on Wednesday is probably the end of it. You would already have TD/TS force winds at that point in/around Tampa

Because he thinks it will be nothing or because he thinks it will “be cool” to go through a hurricane? Either way, that is a dumb decision

Is this storm still projected to stall once it touches Florida? Woke up to a calm 62 degrees in Houston, down from the high 90s from yesterday.

Fifty inches of rain has happened in India (east side) where monsoons deliver the water and that delivery gets stuck and doesn't go over the Himalayas.

Being on a bluff made of rock is one thing, being on a bluff made of sand is just asking for liquefaction to happen.

For anyone wanting to leave, hit the road about 1 am tonight. Roads will be better.
