I had 2 and the powerball about 6 months ago. Not a big deal, except I was only off on the other 3 numbers by a combined 10 digits. And the jackpot was $775 million.

I once had a dream I bought two random lottery tickets for me & an older relative. I looked at the ticket I was giving away, and knew it was going to be the winner. It had mostly classic 80s football jersey numbers: 12, 16, 22, 28,34 and 3. Then I woke up.

Fast-forward a week, and he & I are eating at a casino, and realize it's almost time for the powerball drawing. So, I quickly went to the gift shop and bought two random quick-pick tickets. I looked at the numbers, one of them had 12, 16, 22, 28, 34 and 3!!! No lie. It was fate. I told him about the dream. Feeling superstitious, I said if I don't give it to him and keep it for myself, it may not win. He said "We'll just sign the back of the ticket and we'll both be millionaires." We did and later checked the results.

Not one single number came up.

The people shitting on you for playing will never win.

If you play, you have a very small chance of winning.
If you don’t play, you have zero chance of winning.

Hard work is what successful people do. Stop contributing to the lower element of society.

You’re right, but there’s nothing wrong with enjoying cheap entertainment a couple times a week for a few dollars.

Do you consider losing money entertainment? Are you the guy that goes to a casino, loses $200 on 4 bets and say, “aw shucks, it’s entertainment.”

Be better. That’s not what successful people do.

The only person I’ve ever known to win anything of significance at any gambling/lottery was my dad in 1979. We went on a 3-week family vacation out west and one of the stops was Las Vegas. Picture a conversion van, a pull-behind camper and seven people. It was equal parts Beverly Hillbillies and National Lampoon’s Vacation. I was only 14 so I couldn’t go into the casinos. We were eating breakfast on the day we were leaving, dad played Keno and won $400. That’s equivalent to about $1800 today. Paid for a lot of our trip I’m sure. Pretty cool.

I never go to the casino. I spend $8 a week on lottery tickets for the chance of winning a few dollars here and there. I’m well aware I’ll win less than $10 over a years time, but it gives me a small chance of winning millions, and that’s the entertainment for me.

If I ever do win big, I’m buying this site and renaming it BabyTacisababybitch.com.

Had a heated discussion years ago with the FIL that buying ans selling stocks is legalized gambling.
Argued with me that it wasn't.
I was just being a devil's advocate to him, but there is certainly some truth to it.

Good old poor tax. What's worse than your statistical chance at losing money is the fact that your happiness isn't going to change past paying your bills and buying a nice house, car, and boat. 10 mil vs 200 mil isn't going to change anything about how happy you are. What's worse, its going to screw with the one thing that makes life worth living, family and love. Also nothing about your "success" is something to brag about, just an obscenely lucky chump that draws no respect from anyone. No fulfillment.

Lotterys are stupid. It does fund our schools though so there's that.
