Kids today would rather be streamers than study history or philosophy- and that’s a damn shame. Football should not be prioritized over training our kids with useful critical thinking skills.

LSUs athletic department is 100% self sufficient and does not take money or resources from the academic side. And in fact the athletic department give money to the university.

So eliminating the football program (which is the primary income resource for the athletic department) would hurt the academic side financially…..

Absolutely not. Disband teams that don't make profit. Football, men's basketball, and baseball stay. Everything else leaves. That is what will happen regardless as LSU football supports every other sports that loses money. However, now that football players will split some of the team profit as NCAA suggests, then that means less goes to the money losing programs.

I don't see where Tennis or Swimming or Golf will get any money now that it's staying with the football players, and frankly, I don't give a shite. No one actually cares about those things.

One thing lsu hasn’t addressed is how having a “football” team perpetuates their deep southern tradition of slavery. A lot of people don’t realize that football was actually invented by plantation owners to give them something to watch while there was no planting or harvesting to be done

I hate to break it to you, but all those dudes on the roster with 16 composites on the ACT probably are going to be in PSYC1001 next fall if there’s no football.

Only Football and Basketball make money, mainly due to Conference TV contracts

Terrible. I wish we had more sports like men’s gymnastics and men’s soccer.

Obviously Title IX needs to go.
