I had cataract surgery a few months ago and got the multifocal lenses. 20/20 at all distances without glasses. My only complaint is my night vision isn't quite as good as I had hoped, but still better than before.

40’s is way too young for vision to begin going bad.

Make an appointment with an optometrist. Most health insurance plans cover a checkup and better ones will help cover the cost of glasses or contacts.

Get used to close captioning, it helps in many ways. Bilberry as a supplement is supposed to help too, especially with night vision. I take bilberry and feel like it does help some. I think you probably get the same benefits from their botanical cousin, blueberries.

I was 40 when it started to go.

I’m 45 now and I need readers for anything closer than two feet. And it gets worse as the day progresses.

I knew I was getting old when I went to the eye doctor and she told me "we don't call them bifocals, we call them progressives."

Another sign is being approached by the hearing aid lady when in line at Costco.

Same issue for me and I am 43. I went and had my eyes checked up and nothing stood out to them but the 3D image of my eye was cool. My dad and his brother died at 63 so I figure I'm just on my 20 year end cycle

When I hit my mid 40's I needed glasses to correct my vision. By the time I was in my late 50's it was bifocals and the first pair I got were lined ones that turned out to be a huge mistake for me.

The next year I got lineless bifocals and that's what I've been using for the past 15+ years. My prescription hasn't changed much in the last 5 years, and I'm grateful for that.

shite happens as we age and it usually isn't for the best.

For all of you in your forties, next time you are working sitting at your computer, really pay attention for a second.

I guarantee you’ve without realizing it increased font size, or are straining to read things that used to be easy.

Finally realizing it is an “oh hell” moment.

I disagree. When mine started going bad around 44-45 I was complaining to my optometrist that it was too young for failing eyesight and he said it that's exactly when it starts in most men.

I’m 45 and same. I’ve been wearing glasses at 1.25 for computer and love it

Now I can’t see far and my doctor prescribed those glasses with 3 different viewing angles and I hate them.

Stupid question but do people ever have glasses for normal and far distance and another pair for up close phone and laptop?

I’m 53 and had LASIK at age 28. I don’t know what the hell is going on but I still don’t need reading glasses. I see absolutely perfect close up. I have no idea why?
