Cornell Ornithology

Pretty cool. Haven't seen one in years. It's migrating north.

no shite, I saw two at my feeder today as well. These must of been used to humans as they let me walk up to about 10ft.

The cedar waxwings stopped by in the same tree they always do in my front yard for one evening on their migration last week.

Happens twice a year, April and October for one evening.

They make a nice sound and are beautiful birds. I don't possess the knowledge to post a pic, but you likely know what they look like if you're pointing out a Red Breasted Grosbeak.

I prefer the Fire capped tit.

But some might prefer the Black Breasted tit..

There's even a Southern black tit.

I just like boobies of all types.

Not an avid bird watcher, but it bothers me if I come across a species I can't name.

Walked out to check the mail one afternoon and saw about 40 of them sitting, flying around like large hummingbirds, and chirping sounds I had never heard before, while feeding off leaves that contain a grain like milo in an unidentified tree in my front yard that I figured was dying.

Showed them to some neighbors and no one else had noticed them before either. Spent some time on Google image and figured it out.

When do the purple martins come back?

I inherited a place with a purple Martin house.

They've been back since February. If you don't have the house clean and up they won't nest there.
