I have and you're spreading misinformation.
His life isn't already ruined from being on probation, as you stated. And being on probation is not a stipulation to avoid jail, as you stated.

I'm going home. Y'all have fun. This is about to devolve into arguing semantics like always.
Good call, debating someone who wants to argue is exhausting.

And another one. Read my posts and who I'm fricking quoting.

No, I'm retarded. I was actually asking.

I've seen some stuff with police over the past couple of weeks that has been justified, IMO. This was not.
This was not handled properly at all. Had they told him what they were there for and asked him for identification, this would probably been a smooth situation. This is wrong.
All he had to do was say "Hey, man. I'm here to execute a warrant for Michael Clay. What's your name?"
"Patrick"
"Ok. Do you have an ID? Thanks."
Done and done. This was ridiculous.

If multiple armed police (I saw at least 3) come up to you telling something you know is wrong (warrant) and not believing your name, you probably wouldn't be as calm as he was.
ETA: He never made any aggressive moves, just didn't want to be handcuffed as he tried to figure out wtf was going on. Completely unreasonable that the police refused to explain things or at least properly identify him before going to force

So you are of the opinion that they are the primary instigators / responsible party for the situation devolving in to a struggle?
in that case we agree

Unlike you I don't claim to know these people.

OK my bad, so now his life is ruined. Why? For obstruction, or because this wouldn't be a first offender?
Hello...

what am i missing? You're saying he has already made choices to ruin his life. This incident nor being on probation is life ruining.

I'm not sure I'd say primary since Patrick didn't cooperate from the get go. But they are responsible for it being as bad as it was.

Agreed, The cops involved here need to step up and take ownership of the situation. They fricked up. They should be man enough to step up to the plate and say that they were wrong and that they will try like hell to never make the same mistakes again.

if this kid has his life ruined over this, I'll eat my hat. The video is viral and the cop has been caught in a lie regarding asking for the ID. If anything, this kid could sue and win. hardly life ruining.

I wouldn't want to be handcuffed in front of my house by mistake either.
It's the same address of the guy they are looking for.
So you wouldn't have this problem unless you were living g with someone with a warrant.
All he had to do was get out of the car.
Blame should be placed all around.
Like I have said in this entire fricking thread.

the kid just wanted to know why the frick he was being arrested, and they felt like he needed to be tased for it.
sad.
