All they had to do was ask for his ID. They are the ones trained for this. I doubt their training told them to do what they did.
Kid was confused AF, told them his name, and then asked to see the warrant.
I'm not saying I would've done the same thing, but I would've been just as fricking mad. That kid should get all charges dropped and an apology from the cops.

was that before or after he was hiding and escaping in his vehicle non complying with simple orders to get out?
Yay cops!!!

and why did they feel the need to get him out of the car?
so they don't get shot at.

Why are we only focused on his moves, and not the cop's bad plays, since they had more and they were ultimately at fault here.
Because he can control his. I can't control cops, so I do my best to not give them an opportunity to wrong me. It's worked out pretty well so far.

Why didn't they show him the warrant?

No. Which is why they lied about asking him for ID.
its amazing --
the cops come to the wrong guy
the guy identifies himself verbally
the cops dont attempt to verify that before cuffing him
they then escalate to tasing him instead of properly trying to ID him
they then lie in the police report, and essentially create a charge to cover their mishandling...
and the kids the jerk to a lot of people...

What didn't happen was the police asking for identification.
THAT is the group he should have trusted. Brilliant!!!

let's be honest here
the folks defending him agree with the cops because this was in a neighborhood that has high crime and they agree the cops should be all powerful

He says his name twice you moron
Yeah, and criminals never lie to the cops about their identity
The dumb bastard should have done what the officers asked and then produced an id showing exactly who he is. Then he could just go back to sitting in his car doing nothing. Just like I'm sure he does all day everyday.

Dude, they gave him a chance to get out. Even warned him about the taser. Dumbass then tried to slam the fricking door.
They wanted him to get out to arrest him.
He wanted to know what the hell was going on and why..
He didn't want to be arrested and was so confused in the moment trying to understand why and what for..
There has to be better communication here. Period. This is all on them.
He gets out and they arrest him any ways and still have arrested the wrong guy.
I don't like the taser, but that's not even what I am arguing. Even without the taser and him getting out.. he still gets falsely arrested.. without even giving him a chance to prove who he was and work with him.

I'm not versed in every state law, but isn't this why he's being charged with, ummmm, obstruction?

cops cannot force you to get out of your vehicle on your property if you did not do anything wrong or without probably cause
Au contraire, mon frere - they absolutely CAN. They oughtn't - that's what you mean.

Yea, I should go out just looking for trouble with the police.
