A good ex-Navy friend of mine passed away this morning after a long battle with breast cancer. She was only 30 years old and left behind a husband and three young children. I can't imagine what they're going through right now. When we were stationed in Colorado together we were all pretty close. This one hurts.

My dad survived AML (the most aggressive form of Leukemia) after being diagnosed in 2017. My grandmother died from lung cancer back in 2012. I really hope that one day there will be a cure-all for this crap because it's one of the worst feelings in the world watching friends/loved ones slowly waste away as their body literally eats itself.

There never will be but billions in research is being done daily ESPECIALLY for breast cancer. There are too many cancers to have a single shot, but there's a lot going on in research.

That's terrible, 30 is way too young. Prayers to her family.

I would much prefer our govt provide more money for cancer research, and less money for gender studies in Pakistan.

Our government is shitty but they give way more money to health research than in aid to other countries, especially Pakistan.

My mother is a cancer survivor and it absolutely sucked arse watching her torture herself with chemo just for a chance to meet her grandkids.

I'm pleased to say she not only kicked Cancer's arse but she's happy and thriving and loves babysitting and spoiling said grandkids.

I love you mom.

frick cancer.

So many people, including myself, take everything for granted in our normal busy lives.

Praying for you and your friend’s family

4 posts before something political. That’s pretty solid.

Also, frick cancer.

Good to hear that! My Mom went gate to gate with AML in 5 months in 2017 she had the Inversion 3 variant which was very aggressive. My MIL passed with Multiple Myeloma a few months later…absolutely frick cancer! Enjoy the extra time with your Father and sorry to hear of your other losses!

I’m sorry for your loss… I frequently find myself not understanding why good people are burdened with such a life changing struggle — even survivors are really never the same.

I’ve seen some wonderful people I love succumb to it and it hurts thinking about what they went through.

Life is precious. Cancer is evil.

there are already several cures, first of all. But you aren't going to see them in the news. chemo drug companies buy them out to keep them off the market.

Secondly, the easiest cure for cancer has been posted here many times. it usually gets several down votes. very few people listen. I've personally told a handful of people with cancer about panacur and they all brushed it off. people would rather moan and groan than actually listen.

Agreed…we never think something will happen to us…until it does. At some point, sooner or later, most all of us will get some terrible diagnosis.
