That is your damn fault. No one forced you to take out loans. Frick Bernie and you, pay your damn bills you dead beat.

How did you manage to balance binge drinking with OTR truck driving?

There are many truck stops in this country with bars inside, more truck stops near bars, even more truck stops that sell beer.

So, I guess this means you’re not going to celebrate with a drink....

For real, though, congrats.

Love that you made it to the other side. I hear stories of the lights coming on once sober, I'm not there yet.

You're really a conservative republican. It's going to be funny to watch the revelation

I'm happy for you. Your story is inspirational too and I hope I can quit soon. Every time I quit I feel amazing, then there's some excuse to drink and I start doing it every day again. Could be the Holidays or going to the casino, even if I haven't had a drink all year, if I get drunk once I get drunk every day after that for months.

the Holidays

That stretch was the toughest of all - my arse sat in meetings nearly every night during Christmas week (multiple meetings on Christmas eve), I was in a meeting for New Years at midnight - one of the marathon meetings that lasted for hours. I volunteered for DD duty on FB for friends that needed it, anything to keep me out of the bars or in a bottle.

Don't waste time contact them tomorrow and tell them you want them back in your life.

I've been 9th stepping people - the one person that I knew wouldn't take me seriously unless I had a lengthy amount of time behind my sobriety messaged me yesterday about everything. I hadn't talked to her in nearly a decade, then suddenly she could take me seriously again.
I had talked to a lot of people about it all - i figured some people would just blow me off as trying a stunt, but it surprised me how supportive people were to it. Made me realize how many people knew I had a problem for as long as I did but stupid me kept denying it.

Went from a binge drinking blackout multiple times per week to dry on my first try. Gave up booze for lent last year knowing that it is a huge problem in my life and it stuck. I never thought I'd make it 40 days, much less 365. That shite cost me friends, relationships, family, wrecked my credit, and damn near ended my life. I never could drink socially like some people can - there was never such thing as going out for a couple of drinks. I'd play it off as drinks at dinner, but once I was on my way home I'd pick up a bottle and beers on my way home or I'd just go get shithoused at a bar on my way home.

This describes me to a T. I really am glad you made this post. Even though I know I’m not the only one who has this issue it helps to see someone who literally had the same problem that I do now.

I haven’t had a drink in two weeks and I’m really not missing it. I’m gonna try to do what you have done and go on without it.
