I passed a cop who was going under the speed limit and he pulled me over

He said that he couldve given me a ticket for passing him in the right lane (which I really don't believe is the law) but he didn't give me a ticket since I wasn't speeding and he said the only reason he stopped me was because I "disrespected him". My question is 1. Isn't it illegal to cruise in the passing lane and 2. Why the hell does he demand respect? Cops like him are the ones who give them a bad name.

No way I let that go without telling him the left lane is for passing only.

Correct. Left lane is suppose to be for passing only. He was breaking the law.

How is passing on the right against the law? What if some jackass is going 20 mph in the left lane? That would be a hell of a way to set someone up.

Cops just want to stop people and hope something comes from it. If you would have tweaked out and had drugs the whole reason for him stopping you would have been lied about. Just the way it works.
