I've never heard of any cop ever letting anyone see the radar gun. They can and do lie.

Though I have find troopers to lie in my favor.
(ie, doing 85 in 60, cop writes it as a 75: happened twice to me)

closer to this. Looked to be in his 40s or 50s state trooper. Normally those guys are pretty cool and it's the local county boys who are the picks. I guess this guy thinks his shite don't stink

They are actually taught not to do so for safety reasons.

It's policy, everybody is treated the same....no one is allowed.

state trooper.

Most state troopers are past wasting their and someone else's time by pulling someone over for a petty deal like this but maybe he didn't get his donut that morning or him and his old lady got into a fight. At least you didn't get a ticket.

If this is true....why not file a complaint on him for stopping you without probable cause.

His dash camera should prove you are telling the truth.

Same exact thing happened to me on the Causeway. The cop pulled me over and was extremely pissed, he said something like," you're really going to pass me?" Luckily he ended up letting me go, but the power trip some cops are on is ridiculous.

... Was this in Ashley Co? Around Crossett/Hamburg? ... Sorry for lol'ing, but sounds like you're yet another victim of the shittiest state troopers in the state. The couple of troopers assigned to that area that covers Ashley, Drew, & Union Co. are the bottom of the barrel, & always have been. Honestly, it's sorta like a punishment for being the worst. They are notorious assholes, a few of them have been proven straight-up corrupt, and they're all literally idiots. Between Crossett & Monticello is where they do most of their dirty work, but also west toward El Dorado. When I have to drive through there, I set the cruise 3 mph under the speed limit. They'll find whatever tiny infraction to stop you, and are well-known for even blatantly fabricating violations, and they're absolutely flagrant about it. The one who got you sounds like the one who's been in that area for eons, and he actually enjoys his notoriety as a crooked idiot cop. My suggestion would be to avoid that area when possible since, evidently, it isn't going to change. Also, the crooked judges in that area love the idiot troopers assigned there, & will back them up no matter what inane and/or bogus charges or violations, so probably no point in fighting it. I tried once & it was a waste of time & energy. Just pay the fine & whatever extra they rip you off for to keep it off your insurance, then detour around that area if you have to go in that direction again.

Btw, Crossett "city" cops are no better. Two of them just got busted for breaking into a school while on duty & stealing cases of milk because they were "bored." They didn't notice the cameras in every fricking room recording their every move. Probably best to stay away from that area.

Interstate

Ummmm ... Yeah, there's no interstate near that area. Closest interstate is 20 in Rayville or Monroe -- Louisiana ... which is 60 miles south of where your 'incident' allegedly took place ... I now call bullshite ... However, my synopsis in re the Searky trooper situation & the milk heist is 100% truth.

The interstate between eldo and crossett. Where you go 65. Maybe interstate is the wrong word but it's not a normal highway

I had a very similar story happen to me a few months ago. I'm driving to the gym one morning in moderate traffic and I'm in the left lane driving parallel to a police unit clearly marked "K-9" in the right lane. No one is in front of me and no one in front of him for quite a distance, all the traffic is behind us. The speed limit is 50 and he's going just under (46 mph) and he has a bit of traffic behind him. I have to get in the right lane to make a turn so I speed up slightly to get in front of him. I'm a more than a few car lengths in front of him when I make the lane change, signaling well before I make the lane switch. I have my Waze app going and it shows I'm going 47 prior to the lane change and although I didn't check it during the lane change I probably sped up to around 54, if that.

As mentioned, I'm several car lengths ahead of him when I make the change so there's no way I cut him off. After I get in the right lane he zips in the left lane and pulls up next to me, gunning his engine to get my attention & gesturing wildly. I kind of shrug him off and keep driving. He gets in behind me and rides my bumper and clearly gets on his radio calling in my plates. I see no radar or dash cam and the only law I may have broken was going maybe 4-5 miles over the limit so I'm not sure what he's going to cite me for. I turn on the memo app on my cell in preparation for getting pulled over so I can record the conversation. I make a right, then a left, then another right into the gym parking lot and he's on my tail the whole way and follows me until I park. I park and get out and he sits there and glares before driving off. The only thing I can think of that may have set him off was he probably thought "this guy has some balls for passing a clearly-marked police unit" but frick that guy. Scottsdale police have a bad rep, with nothing better to do than arrest jaywalkers and harass decent law-abiding citizens. I know, CSB.

I was passed the other morning by a Caddo Sheriff on double yellow approaching a hill. I had cruise set on 52 speed limit was 45. I caught up with him in a school zone as he turned to drop his kid off. Wonder if he would have pulled me over had I passed him.

How is passing on the right against the law? What if some jackass is going 20 mph in the left lane? That would be a hell of a way to set someone up.

Earnhardt bump them into the median.
