All the little dick, power tripping cops give good cops a bad name. Sad part is that I think the former might be the majority.

You should've told him to stop blocking the fast lane.

I'd be tempted to ask him to write the ticket and make him show up in court and explain it to the judge.

It's a tough job, I get it, but guys like that give the rest of them a bad name. Any one with little man syndrome has no business being a cop.

I had a smalltown East Texas police officer try to goad me into a committing a traffic infraction about two months ago.

I was driving an older vehicle that must've caught his eye when we passed on one side of town (he turned around, I was not speeding).

He got up next to me at the red light (I was in the right lane).

The two lanes dropped down to one, and at that point, he hit his brakes to slow down. With me being in the right lane wanting to merge left, I simply came to a crawl behind him while giving my signal. All perfectly legal.

Then he whipped over onto the shoulder, forcing me to pass, then whipped in behind me. The speed limit jumped to 70 and I drove 65 with him on my arse all the way to the other city limit sign.

Then he gave up. I didn't speed, signaled correctly, followed the rules of the road on merging and had valid tags and inspection sticker (and was wearing a seat belt).

Where was this at? In NWA?

State trooper version of mudchecking someone.
