I will never forget when I took my last dog to Richmond for Thanksgiving. I wasn't feeling well, so I went up to my old room lay down. A little bit later, my step dad came in to check on me. My boy Sheltie, very impolitely, told him to GTFO, he was watching me.

Just go to the pound. Those muts are just happy to be alive.

Got an American Foxhound from the pound, trained it to be service dog, spayed female, chipped, had a low growl and deep bark, very protective, very good with children and other pets including cats.

Quite possibly the most retarded dog i've ever owned.

I have two. They are extremely loyal to me, and very subdued.

Mine is a mini red Merle. I'd like a blue Merle too. Passed out on the dock from day drinking. Everyone had gone out on the boat. Woke up to this

That is an awesome photo. The water, the chill happy dog - it gave me a nice feeling on what has so far been a crappy day.

Sorry if corny.

My mom had an Akita/Irish settler mix that was loyal. It would stick to her like glue.

My mom is currently keeping my shiz zhu and that dog will not leave her side. When she goes inside it lays down on the carport in front of the door and will not let anyone inside.

My parents also had a black lab that was mean as shite but wouldn't leave my moms side for anything.

Then the various mutts we had growing up.

It's really how you raise them

I'll recommend labs till the death of me. They are the perfect family dog imo. Mine just died hours ago and it hurts like hell but at least she isn't suffering anymore.

This dog could walk the neighborhood by herself and make her way back home lol. How, I got no idea but she did it.

Anyone who went in my yard, she let us know. As for kids, she played with them all day long. Always let us know if anything didn't seem right or if someone was at the house. Man I'm gonna miss that dog.

Yep. Aka Velcro dogs. Mine listens to me over all others

Except she won't stay off the bed. Bitch waits until I go to sleep and every morning I wake up and she's lying an inch from my face

Mine would lay in the bed until I got in then she got down, I wouldn't have minded here there but for some reason she wouldn't stay in the bed when I slept.

Both of mine have been extremely loyal and very well behaved, they didn't let strangers in the house until I told them to back up.

I have one, and she's pretty cool. She craves human contact. I know for certain that she will not bite anyone, and it's nice not having to worry about that.
