Weird. Huskies are generally known for their peculiar temperament and independence.

They are without a doubt the most obstinate dogs I have been around. It seems like they do everything they can to be ornery. They are fun as heck as long as you can live with a dog that trolls you constantly.

Oh absolutely he is a HUGE troll

It's pretty hysterical, though. Couldn't imagine what it'd be like without him around.

This is another good choice. I had a black female and she was extremely loyal. She was large for a female - about 180. No one messed with her and she was sweet as can be. On the other hand, I've had two harlequin males and both love themselves. They were both good, protective dogs but not quite as sweet as the female

I have an American Staffordshire Terrier and he has been amazing. He is 9 now, but damn he can move.

Last night my wife left the doggy door unlocked and a strange animal got in the house at around 3:30 this morning. That dog woke up in our room and just booked it and chased whatever it was out the house.

Huskies aren't exactly the best dog to have around kids unless they are just naturally sweet or well trained. Lots of Huskies are just aggressive assholes.

You can just say pitbull. It's ok. Had a lady in Canada tell me that was the breed of her pit when we saw them on vacation. She got a nice chuckle from the family that had 2. Canada is apparently anti-pit.

Lots of people can't handle owning dogs with life expectancies of 8 to 10 years.

There are physical differences between the two breeds, but I'm guessing you don't know that.

And if they are the same dog I guess just take any ole pitbull, forge papers, and enroll him in AKC qualifiers and see how far it gets.

Edit: Saw you ended up going German Shepherd. You made the right decision.

You'll probably do ok: "These breeds are essentially the same dogs but have been bred for different purposes and/or size standards since the mid 1930's. Some are even dual registered (i.e., registered as an American Pit Bull Terrier with the UKC and as an American Staffordshire Terrier with the AKC)."

The certifications aren't reciprocal. Any Amstaff can be certified as a pit under the UKC but NO pitbull can be certified under the AKC.

Definitely! My rescue mutt is the most loyal dog - always by my side and scares anyone who comes near me when necessary. Very protective of me.
