It’s a great place for meth and burning furniture.

I have visited there twice for school/work. The people are not nice, and a lot of the people look sick. Pale skin, dark bags around their eyes, and unhealthily skinny. I dunno if it’s the meth or coal contamination in the water.

Might be a good place for residency given the health issues, but 0/10 recommend going for any fun.

God speed.

Trashiest Walmart we've ever seen (good price on soft drinks).

Decent drive up to Pittsburg. Not that far from some important Revolutionary War sites that have been forgotten by time. Fort Necessity comes to mind as do so many larger forts when the French and British were fighting.

I'm moving to Morgantown WV in late june because I am starting my residency at WVU in July (yes that is a I'm a doctor brag). Any OT posters know anything about the town? Like what are the good neighborhoods to live in, fun things to do, etc?

TIA

I have several friends who went to school there (all from the same family out of a suburb of Pittsburgh). They liked the town, some even still live in the area. West Virginia is actually quite beautiful.

On a side note, Don Knotts was from Morgantown and was a benefactor of the University. My understanding is he had a residence near the university much of his adult life.

Good luck and enjoy yourself while you're there.

from the upper floors of the hospital you can look into the stadium...one thing that will suck for you is that the hospital shares it's parking lot with the stadium...

I can seriously state that a couple of years back it was easier to buy a .50 cal machine gun (legally!!!) than a beer close to the stadium...

Great little town. My daughter swam for WVU for 4 years. I really enjoyed all of my visits there. Almost heaven amber ale and pizza at Mountain State brewing company down on the river is great. Nearby state parks are beautiful and white water rafting trips in the area are great in the summer. Great fans and tailgates are a lot of fun with lots of moonshine.

Live close to the Morgantown Personal Rapid Transit

Buy an AWD vehicle

Learn to camp/hunt/fish and you'll love living there

They have 100s of rude and crude football fans, a great monorail system, and not much more.

They frown upon people running into their classrooms yelling tigerbait.
They’re student union has a bowling alley that seves beer.
