I think you will enjoy it. Great people. Both my sisters went to college there. A close friend was President of WVU until he took the same position at Clemson. They enjoyed it.
Winter time there can be a little bland but close by is Lakeview Resorts, decent skiing and great whitewater rafting. Would I choose to live there? Probably not. I also know you can have a great time anywhere. Enjoy.

Congrats on being a Doc.

I know folks there, you’ll have a good time and have plenty of great stories.

You probably won’t stay permanently in WV but if you remember to “When you love, wear a glove”, you’ll enjoy your time there.

PS: I was at the 2011 WVU-LSU game there. It was wild & wonderful.

Family medicine then planning on doing a fellowship in emergency medicine or lifestyle medicine. Somebody has to start treating the fatty mcfatasses before its too late. Plus I saw a lot of doctors having "life health" clinics in Miami and those pts paid straight cash.

Sorry you couldn’t get into nursing school.

WV is a beautiful state with a lot of problems. For you, I think you will enjoy.

777, I had a week of PIT turns and was pleasantly surprised.

Agree, it is not a Mecca, but a lot going on.

I watched the sorority video you linked. My experience in WV showed about the same kind of women. Granted, I was in Charleston.

A group of us went to a small restaurant downtown that had a nightclub in the back. Women started walking through the restaurant to get into the nightclub. The ugliest ones were still 7's. The average was 8's. (IRL) there were about a dozen 9's. It was a phenomenal parade.

Everybody speaks of the sunken eyes and malnourished look. I saw some of that in the guys but these girls were healthy. If Morgantown is the same, you will never want to leave, until you are older and lock in on one.

Good luck.

sounds exciting

Make the most of your time there.

You will have plenty of time afterwards to live someplace interchangeably urban/suburban.

I was born and raised in southern WV, got my engineering degree at WVU. I love WV and always will - it's home. Yes, it' a different world compared to most of the rest of the country, and a large part of the state will probably always have serious problems, mostly due to lack of economic opportunity.

All that said, the only place in WV that I would be willing to move back to would be Morgantown. Just as WV is a little different compared to most of the rest of the US, Morgantown is different compared to the rest of WV - in a good way. And if you were last there for the LSU game, it's an almost night and day difference - I hardly recognize the place anymore. As someone else mentioned all the slums in Sunnyside are gone, replaced with large mixed commercial/apartment buildings. Lots of new residential development out towards the mile ground as well (going towards Cheat Lake). If you like the outdoors you will most likely love your time there.
