I’m just curious about how you felt about all the black on black crime in your former city of Baton Rouge and what steps you took to remedy that situation. Did you at least go on a message board and criticize the people responsible? Because maybe it’s just me, but it seems like murdering people is a lot more serious than flying a flag that you and your liberal buddies have deemed inappropriate.

Here’s your wake up call: nobody gives a damn what you deem as inappropriate. I don’t own a Confederate Flag, but I appreciate why they are flying it. It has more to do with people like you who want to take liberties away from American citizens than it has ever had to do with slavery or racism. But you keep drinking that PC koolaid while you enjoy your safe community.

Well dang man. I wouldn't ever do something like that to anyone on a hwy. Just projecting my thoughts here and offering them up for discussion.

There's nothing wrong with your posts. People on here just want to defensive about the CSA. I'm not going to call anyone racist blindly, but I will say that most racist people are cowards.

So you won’t stop and ask someone why they are doing something you seem to be insulted by, but you’ll come here and bitch about it?

Might wanna go check on your wife, I’m sure the bull needs some water.

Guess this isnt the board for me. I figured I would make a post about my observations from this parish and get some serious discussion but I now see that it is not possible here.

The median income for a household in the parish was $38,887, and the median income for a family was $44,071. Males had a median income of $36,508 versus $22,325 for females. The per capita incomefor the parish was $16,282. As of August 2001, about 43,800 people were employed in the parish. The unemployment rate was 4.8%. About 9.10% of families and 11.40% of the population were below the poverty line, including 11.70% of those under age 18 and 15.80% of those age 65 or over.

May I ask why the salaries are so low? Considering the population density, I expected them to be higher.

I’ll be sure to let them know they don’t meet your personal standards, Since you are the arbiter of what is and isn’t acceptable.

Ever think part of it is a rebel (albeit trashy) spirit, telling people like you that they can frick off trying to dictate what people can or can’t do?

Outside of any historical or political meaning, if nothing else it’s a big middle finger to your type

Just devils advocate because I don’t give a shite about either side, but .. does anyone really think random run down houses and trailers in LP are inhabited by people with some deep meaningful relationships to the confederate flag? Are there even many people in general with a personal reason for attachment?

Seems like a very generic excuse that doesn’t apply to most people flying it.

Look, I figured I would get some good discussion, maybe a little banter but I now see that such discussions here aren't possible. Guess I overstepped my boundaries as a new poster. Wont happen again.

You did not just make an observation.....see part of your op, below.

quote:

Now I'm not one to interject, question ones freedoms and right of expression but I am fairly sure they know and welcome the disgust these symbols represent and the reactions it might conjure up for a big part of the population.
I even saw a lawn service guy in my neighborhood that had one on his lawnmower trailer.
I'm sure they would tell you it is a sense of pride but they have to know that in these days it's just not right to display that flag.

You observed, made assumptions, and then stated your opinion. Your opinion doesn't bother me, but I'm just here to point out that it is not just an observation.

I 100% agree.

Just for the record, I do not support the confederate flag, but I do support people being able to put whatever flag they want out..

But my whole point was that it's LP... It's expected there.

I used to think the same. Moved out here because it deleted my drive time to work by an hour. All I have to do is drive through Central, no Interstate at all. Kids go to Live Oak, I did not think mynpost would garner so much negativity and vitriol. Just tried to make a statement that I thought every one of us shared. I am of the thought that the Confederate flag being flown is just done to piss black people off. Period.
Sorry if my assumptions have angered some. But I stand by my statement.

The reason you're getting bullshite about all this is because it's common knowledge the LP and AP are rife with redneck morons.

Were you raised in BR? Because if not they might cut you a little slack for being unaware of this.

And I stand by my statement that you’re a pussy. Why don’t you walk up to someone who’s flying the flag and ask them about it?

Why are you a scared little bitch?
