I moved to Livingston parish from Baton Rouge RE: Confederate flags

There seems to be a proliferation on some stretches of highways here in This parish where the Confederate flag is flown proudly.
Now I'm not one to interject, question ones freedoms and right of expression but I am fairly sure they know and welcome the disgust these symbols represent and the reactions it might conjure up for a big part of the population.
I even saw a lawn service guy in my neighborhood that had one on his lawnmower trailer.
I'm sure they would tell you it is a sense of pride but they have to know that in these days it's just not right to display that flag.

Some people enjoy pissing people off. Bet you most of those people trying to show “pride for their heritage” couldn’t pick the Louisiana flag out of a lineup.

I am a hunter and fisherman. Really enjoy the outdoors and have seen this in spatterings from time to time but the drive down Arnold road or Cane Market really makes you realize how bad it is out here. But hey, my kids go to great schools.

My dad flew the First National Flag of the Confederacy in a predominately black neighborhood. No one knew what it was because it wasn’t the “Rebel Flag”. I think the battle flag is meant to be controversial at times. He flew his flag because he had relatives that died. Don’t assume what you don’t know.

I moved to a nice neighborhood with amazing neighbors
Our schools Parent teacher conferences are packed with concerned parents. So much so that the events normally take over 2 hours to complete.
So I can say at least the parents here actually care about their kids and community.

Shouldn’t the meaningful convos occur at home, first with your spouse, then with the kids? I dunno, I was homeschooled.
