He moved from San Diego, not the Bay Area. But the point still stands, weather sucks in the south (Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Florida, etc...). It's one of the major drawbacks to the area, IMO.

excellent. this article should be clicked, retweeted, and given as much run as possible so that other Californian’s don’t move to Texas.

Soak in the liberal shithole you created.

San Diego’s weather is even better than the Bay Area. San Francisco can be a dreary chilly shithole in the fall and winter.

Yeah, because they are all miserable fricks from California, or tired of miserable fricks from California

File this under “no shite Sherlock”. If this guy didn’t do a 5 second google search about the weather in southern Texas before moving there, that’s his own fault.

The change in weather provides opportunity for certain things to go on. Hunting, in the spring you have your festivals, etc, etc

And his bill was still north of 400. Sounds like he bought a lemon home with poor insulation and a water leak.

i can agree with the weather in San Francisco being better, but i live about 40 miles north of Austin. This part of texas is pretty great from October - June.

July - September suck sweaty balls, don't get me wrong, but 4 months of crap weather, vs really high taxes, homeless problems (which Austin has by the tons,) poop on the streets, etc.

That being said, people in Austin in my 40 years of living in Texas are the biggest dicks out there. it's not a friendly city, and i'm including DFW and Houston in that statement.

this guys problem is that he didn't like CA and moved to a place where other people from CA are going.

Author of the article seems like a massive pansy. One of his big complaints is inaccurate Yelp reviews because he ate at one bad restaurant? What a loser

But Chris, that would cut down on all your outdoorsy activities! The hiking, the mountain biking, the backpacking!

I mean, you’d be forced to stay indoors and make terrible threads...you’d be so unhappy!

LOL at this doosh.

His first point is about taxes. He whines about how he's paying more in property taxes. Fails to mention how there is no income tax in Texas.

Then he talks about power bills. He says his house in CA was 2k sq ft. His house in TX is 4k. So he doubled in size and then bitches because its more expensive to cool/heat.

Weather- Did you visit before you moved? A random child in Singapore can tell you its hot in Texas.

Rudeness- That's because all the Californians moving there.

Conservative dystopia- Basically says nothing but greed which of course doesn't exist in CA. Also LOL if he thinks Austin is conservative.

Monoculture- Cause only white people live in Austin.

This guy is the prime example of why CA needs to be walled off from the rest of the country so those D-bags cant spread their stupidity.

yeah i don't believe a lot of his bullshite

i mean he says shite like this:

quote:

In general you couldn't trust Yelp as much, which was so disconcerting

and this:

quote:

Exhibit A was the dad (also at a kids flag football league) wearing the "Don't move to Austin" t-shirt, a play on "Don't mess with Texas." Let me get this straight, I uprooted my family, moved across four states, and that's the welcome I get?

quote:

I've never been told so often what to do and what not to do, and the delivery is in a "this is just the way it's done" tone that is completely oblivious to any other viewpoints on the matter.

Our friends from Tennessee also confirmed that Austin does not conform to the notion of Southern hospitality

he's pointing out stereotypes while LITERALLY being a fricking stereotype

Dude, I am actually outside a lot more than you assume. And there is this thing called a smart phone.. It allows you to post without having to be stationary.

my wife follows James Van Der Beek or whatever Dawson's name is and he just moved from CA to Austin.

she showed me a video where his kids were playing at a park, and he was shocked that the parks just let people show up and use them freely.

apparently in CA he has to pay to go to some public parks? i've never heard of that in my life.

Seems like he is one of those jackasses that would leave a blue state to move to a red state and keep voting blue. And can't figure out why the new state starts sucking.
