Oooofff I wonder if AI could great a diagram showing how that works.
If you depend on govt cheese, then no tears are shed when it dries up.

I listen to NPR on the way to work every morning…well it’s MPB, but they run NPR shows. Their bias is so thinly veiled a 4th grader could pick up on it. Better than dumb arse radio shows where everyone laughs at each other. The second I hear a room full of radio people laughing is when I change the channel.
I do the same…by far the best thing on the radio in the morning. Not interested in anything remotely political, but rather the local shows that MPB has concerning topics like money, animals, etc.
If any of the programs I like disappear, I will remember it when elections roll around.

Only MPB show I did not enjoy was the Gestalt Gardener…and I still listened to it for the information. Felder and I would not get along, but I respect his knowledge.

my mom always made me watch PBS for the educational cartoons.
Second, PBS was always left leaning. Not even a credible pretense of being neutral.
Third, nobody wants to deprive all access to this content - voters just do not wish to fund the propaganda which is contrary to their beliefs. Kids can still have access - if someone puts their money up or these stations sell ads to make money. Let them compete in the free marketplace like all others must do.
Time to wean PBS from the government teat.
In short, it is time for the whole public broadcasting environment to grow up, because voters have finally decided to stop paying the ne'er-do-well red-headed stepchild's bills and toss his indolent arse out of the basement. Time to become an adult or starve.
I actually hope that they all mature in response to accountability from market pressure and evolve into something appealing to a broader audience.

I would comment if I knew what PBS & NPR were.

Hope they find a way to keep doing the tiny desk concerts.

PBS and NPR are products of a different time and needed to go. Anything worthwhile will be picked up by another network. Where did all the money from the Barney franchise go?

The Christmas Eve service from the Chapel at King's College, Cambridge
The Vienna Philharmonic New Year's Day concert.

I’m certain any programs worth their salt will be absorbed by the private sector.
Of course it will be coming back as soon as another Democrat gets in office.

without PBS
I know people like to rip on Ken Burns, and he deserves a lot of the criticism, but will he still be able to put out his American Revolution doc?

Too much soy. Also listening to feminized men talk into a mic.
I will miss the SNL parodies.
Like this one when they were funny.

Agreed….not my kind of fellow! However, it has some good information at times. I am recently retired, and these shows are a part of my morning routine.

RIP in peace Ari Shapiro and Elsa Chang.

I feel like there are people out there who would rather fund this than fund jets for billionaires. Then again, such people aren’t in a cult.

I liked “wait wait don’t tell me” car talk, science Friday and stuff like that.
I liked NPR, their liberal bias was evident but often less than we have had on local news and they were less clandestine about it and generally had good reporting.
My political views are not influenced by radio, TV. Internet. Etc . Not really by the bullshite political parties either.
That’s for sheeple and beta boys.
If you are so weak or brainwashed you can handle listening to the other side you are just weak in conviction, belief, and fortitude.
Like Cartman said “the lesbo libtards tears and whining” was perfect way to start the day.

Some of the good stuff from PBS:

There are things on NPR that I enjoy. And then the agit-prop starts and ruins everything.
It didn't have to end this way. They could have tried to be fair but things got worse not better. No justification for such blatant anti-conservative, TDS nonsense.
Time for them to get off the public payroll and get by like everyone else has to: support by and from the folks who agree with them and not the government.

They will be around for a long time. I used to be a donor, until every Nova was about global warming.
