Most people don't give a shite whether they go or not. They just don't want to fund the propaganda.

PBS Masterpiece Theater has some great stuff. A lot of coordination with the BBC to produce stuff like Wolf Hall, All Creatures Great and Small, Poldark, Grantchester, Endeavor, Sherlock, etc. All of the Ken Burns documentaries.
Underselling PBS as just home of Sesame Street is silly.

I don’t take personal advice from those less than me. Enjoy your morning.

Back when PBS was one of only five channels we had, it was useful. In today’s communications market, not so much, and the genuinely good shows will be picked up by other networks.

I pay the 10 bucks a month extra on Prime to have PBS Masterpiece if it goes up another 10 bucks I'll still pay it even with my limited income and having to make choices and that's okay I have no objection to cutting the Public Funding but I'll pay for my share of it and I hope they're enough other peopleto do so as well
There are quality shows on PBS that I think are important
Even if I will complain about some of the shows that I like that I detect a liberal bias and they're not telling the facts correctly
Now if I continue to support them they'll have to listen to me even more with my 20 to 10 dollars a month

Close your eyes and take a deep breath.
Now, let's pretend that the only people with radio shows on NPR are wearing red hats, love America, and are touting the good that the current administration is doing. You are forced to help pay for this "information". Still want to foot that bill or go to jail if you don't?
I do these types of exercises with my leftist friends all the time. The confusion on their faces is amazing and fun to watch.

I don’t know if the programs are super left wing now or something, but when I was a young kid my mom always made me watch PBS for the educational cartoons and I think that definitely contributed to me performing well in school. It’s unfortunate that kids won’t be able to watch that anymore and more parents are probably just going to stick an iPad with Cocomelon in the kid’s face and let it rot their brain.

The amount of funding they received was so minuscule compared to the entirety of federal spending that the cut is not of statistical significance

All Things Considered used to be a staple for me for my commute back into Dallas. Something happened around fall of 2016 and that show became unbearable to listen to. Not sure what happened…

PBS and NPR will survive.
Why? Because if they provide such a valuable service, they should be more than able to make up lost funding via private donations.
It will show why taxpayer funding going to these entities was so stupid. It wasn’t necessary for them to be operational.

The number of people in here who think PBS and NPR are shutting down is crazy. It's the CPB that shut down. Many rural areas will lose local content, but the national programming will continue because it doesn't rely exclusively on CPB.

My understanding is that many rural areas could lose access to PBS and NPR altogether. If so this could really impact families with small children. I have small kids - we and every other family we know watch a good bit of PBS kids
