Barry never moved to Arkansas. The movie wasn't historically correct.

He did live there for awhile but he ran out of Mena AND Louisiana and lived mostly in Lake Sherwood.

But the movie was pretty fictitious or liberal with the facts.

The pilot “Bob” in the movie was a sugarcane farmer around White Castle and he had a landing strip in a cane field.

I disagree. Most people murdered in BR are by dindunuffins and stray gunfire.

This guy was taken out by Pablo Escobar. That's pretty damn successful

Yes he did. And he dropped in the atchafalaya basin as well as just landing in cane field grass strips around south Louisiana.

Do you know his last name? I have family from around there.

PS I lived in Clayton in the late 60’s.

Don't know how many have seen it, but HBO made a similar flick about him around 1990 called Doublecrossed starring Dennis Hopper. Never met Barry, but Hopper sure seemed to do a better job playing the part. Part riverboat gambler, part cocky pilot, and just had an overall charisma that many have said mirrored that of Mr. Seal.

I mean, they had his living family as consultants for it so there's not many other good sources left.

It is my understanding that he had a landing strip in the woods near Folsom and actually used it quite a bit.

You do realize 99% of that film is fake, right?

Yeah you can easily find articles that compare the actual truth to the movie. I liked the movie....but understood most of it was given a Hollywood spin on it. Ex: Barry never had a brother in law that stole from him and was killed in a car bombing. The wife in the film is not named Lucy irl and is actually his third wife.
