Yeah I'm not from there, but $3000 would be noticeable if there was a leak.
The city I live in runs their own utilities and I would have them out regardless.
Sucks if this is normal, I'd be going to a media outlet if this is common with the provider.

You need to find out if you have a leak..
For the $266 bill you check for a leak. If his line was leaking $3k worth of water, he’s gonna notice.

Mistakes happen.
I bet it will be fixed, just give them time.

Fill your meter cover with concrete

You guys posting that NOLA will fix this water bill have no idea the pain people go through fighting these bills. Prayers sent FB.

Your usual water bill is $150 a month?! Geez that's pretty damn high itself. My bill in Mandeville for a family of 5 is around $60 with sewage included

Listen, you're not better than the city you live in, you are the city you live in.
Pay up.

I got the bill just a little bit ago. I checked the meter with no water running. It’s not spinning. So no leak. I couldn’t read it though it’s dark and kind of scratched up. So even with a flashlight I couldn’t make it out. I’ll look at it again in daylight.

I got a water bill that was Triple what it usually is a few months ago. I called the S&WB and they put it under investigation. They told me just to pay what my bill normally is and they wouldn’t shut off my water.

This is my second go around. The first time was $4000 and took me 5 months to get it straight. This one was $6500. Who knows how long this will take? They will “investigated” and nothing is ever wrong. No late fees or interest is charged during this “investigation”. Then you have to go to a fricking hearing. It is an absolute nightmare.

Can I ask what the usage was? I think I have a leak in my irrigation system (SW FL) and my bill went from $45 to $500 because we were watering the yard with the underground irrigation system. They said we used 80 THOUSAND gallons in one month. Seems like I would have created a sinkhole,

Someone said to call Lee Zuric and you should if they don't make this right. No one what's Lee on their arse.

266 was very high but I have a pool.
Your $3300 bill is obviously a mistake but based on the above ($266 and pool), I have to ask if you have a water float valve on your pool. A buddy of mine went over a year with a pool that was leaking and never knew it (other than high water bills). Finally started noticing the ground would never dry out in the fall/winter. He got rid of his float valve after that.

How much water is $3300? I don't think I could get a bill that high if I continuously ran two showers at a time for the entire month.
FWIW, my bill typically is about $75

The prices aren't normal, but the incompetency is. They essentially frick up their billing then put the onus on the property owner to fix it.

Ebr sewage fees are a fricking ripoff too. But that's either thread.
I had a leak one month and they used the sewage rate for that month for the year.
