Yikes, hit a nerve there? There are always studies upon studies to prove one side vs the other. You have to look at who is backing what study, and why.
No nerve but as somebody who trains people on the side it's annoying as hell to have misguided people spouting off things that are not backed by science.
There are no studies showing that low carb makes you lose body fat faster than any other diet once calories and protein are equated. Please find me this study as it would be ground breaking. You would literally flip the scientific community on its head by finding this study.

I am not going to "stop" with my sugar is addictive "bullshite". It's what I believe, and if you have differing OPINION, because that what you have - an opinion - that is perfectly fine. I'm not upset over it.
Believe what you want, doesn't make it true. Your proof is some meme you read or an article with no citations.
Wanna learn the science of fatloss go read fat loss forever by layne Norton, even has a whole chapter dedicated to keto by the keto expert Dr. Dom D'Agonstino. Or go read the lean gains method by Martin Berkham. Two books backed by science.

I also don't take anything you are saying "for the record" unless you are a dietitian, doctor or work in this industry
Take it however you want, I promise I am on of the most educated on this subject on this board. Not saying that to brag, saying it because I have the certifications and results to back it up. I don't train people full time, but I have been known to get pretty good results for those I do train.

Agreed. As a parent, I very actively fight against this to make sure my kid knows what a balanced diet looks like, and what moderation is. Except I've now created a tiny little monster who thinks all people who eat pizza or ice cream are fat, and likes to point that out to them directly in public.
Having a similar issue. Doesn’t help that we’re reading Charlie and the Chocolate Factory together and Mr Dahl makes fun of fat people multiple times throughout the book.
However, I have to admit that even with our insistence on him eating a balanced diet and understanding what is healthy and what isn’t, he still lives for sweets. He wants a sweet every day and it’s a struggle for him to understand that dessert is a special treat for special occasions. Like Salmon pointed out, it doesn’t help that sugar is constantly handed out to them freely everywhere they go.
Just look at the kids menu at any restaurant. It’s chock full of simple carbs.

I agree that the sugar addiction talk is mostly BS, but disagree that carbs don’t make you fat. The American diet is processed shite loaded with sugar in the form of carbs or plain sugar. Throw that on top of sedentary lifestyles and there you have it, fat asses everywhere.

Are you calling me or 777 retarded
He is calling you dumb because you are saying you feel science is wrong despite hundreds of studies and millions of dollars being poured into the subject trying to prove you correct, with no success.
Trust me everyone wants the keto diet to be the holy Grail, but we keep getting proven wrong.
Just for the record, I sure the keto diet at times and recommend it at times, because it's a tool to help with complianance for some, myself included.

it's all about calorie deficit...period.
Only reason people lose on low sugar is because the calories dropped.
That said, sugar is absolutely in inflammatory agent that causes all kinds of shite.

This. At the beach last week and this group of 5'3" women pushing around 230 pounds with whale tail bikinis and nasty arse tattoos all over. They were smoking and cussing the whole time while their little spawns were damn near drowning in the surf.

Because we over consume it because it's in foods that are tasty and are not satisfing. But sugar nor carbs cause you to gain body fat at any higher percentage that. Overconsumption of fat. Only protein, due to dietary induced thermogenesis (DIT) can be over eaten without causing fat gain and there is a limit on that.
Bottom line is every study shows i.e. science, that once protein is accounted for, the only thing that matters for body fat loss or gain is calories in vs calories out.
Keto and lower carb are great tools but are nothing more than that.

You have no idea what I do for a daily living or what I went to school for, but OK.
I also never said anything you just typed out... other than sugar is bad for you (and is addictive). I never stated it is the sole thing that causes obesity, or that by solely cutting our sugar you will lose weight. Do you not agree that sugar is bad? Not talking about natural sugars here.
I actually said nothing about fat loss or what helps people lose weight. This whole thread has not been about losing weight... it is what has caused our nations obesity problem. And many accurate factors have been pointed out... a combination of lots of things. I make one comment about sugar and you zoned in on it to go on some rant.
Back to the gym with your protein shake, friend.

Our weight gain can be traced to a reduction in activity as much as anything else.

777 has a long history on this site proving his knowledge, if you are qualified let's hear it. Until then you are saying shite that's been debunked by science because you feel it's thay way.
Let's just be objective here, who should we believe given those facts?

This ladies and gentlmen is how you create a spinzone.
You're trying to say that having 4 quarters or 1 dollar isn't the same thing.

Your dude is trying to turn this thread into some argument with me over a statement I made about sugar being addictive/drug like.
I'm not interested. Nor do I have any desire to share with you my personal life and work.

I think snacking is certainly a big part of it. Junk food is worse than fast food. But sitting on their arse snacking is terrible.
We used to get a soft drink at the corner store once a day, but spent five hours playing baseball or football almost every summer day.

People with morbidly obese kids or generally super fat kids in general, should prolly be cited for child abuse. Call me extreme but kids should be healthy, active, and generally fit. If they’re a fat lazy slob, your parenting sucks arse. You’re teaching them habits they’ll carry to adulthood. Fat people with fast kids. It’s unfortunate. I get that quality food can sometimes be hard to afford/find depending on location... so..
1. Don’t have kids until you can feed them well
2. Learn how not to feed them candy/soda/etc all day every day
3. Get off your fat arse and get them away from video games and phones.
No reason for this country to be as disgustingly overweight as it is, costing billions per year in healthcare.

Because you continue to repeat the fsctaully incorrect statement.

Then you have no credibility, which is fine, just don't be butthurt when you get called out.

I am in Navarre Beach and was in Ft Walton recently as well and I concur. Seeing men or women over 30 or so that are in any kind of shape is extremely rare.

Continually? Of all my posts in this thread... I think I twice spoke directly about sugar.
If you are taking any advice from strangers on a message board about your health, then there are bigger problems at stake. I don't need credibility here.
