Hfcs is the real issue. It is addictive.

There are people that kill sodas like an alcoholic would with alcohol.

Since your google is broken or you’re too lazy to do some homework or perhaps just trying to be contrarian, I typed in “is sugar addictive” and found plenty of literature to support her claim

I would venture to assume those are not medically backed studies. If you want to make an absurd claim, back it up with real evidence.

I DO think processed foods and sugary drinks introduced to toddlers and is part of their daily lives, gives them a huge disadvantage in life. A 1.5 yr old should not be drinking a Sprite, yet I sadly see it all the time. I think for kids... sugar is addictive. And that's not just my opinion, there is science behind that.

I would agree to a certain extent. I was given those things at a young age but also forced to play outside and it was never used as a reward.

I give my kids those things but never or should I say I do my best to reward them with sugar. Or if I do I try and make them understand that it is not something you have everyday and that it is unhealthy. I have 3 young boys with oldest being 8, my oldest was on the larger side. Biggest thing that helped him has been sports. Hi. Playing organized sports and coming home wanting to practice has caused a small reduction in his weight while he has grown two inches at the same time.

At a young age, they are only going to be able to eat so much, they can burn calories like crazy if they are forced outside.

But I do agree with you with kids. I also hate how parents are ignorant and don't recognize things.

I try and let my kids be kids and have junk food daily but in moderation. But daily they go play outside play baseball, basketball, football, swim or they ride bikes. We stay off of the motorized equipment.

I know and realize I am in a unique position due to my education on the subject but my kids are also starting to train daily calisthenics. It's amazing what basic motor patterns due for their daily movement and how much more confident they get as they progress.

Btw for those looking for things to help kids, look at the brand x method. For those worried about training your kids, listen to this podcast by the doctors from barbell medicine

Quit judging us a-hole. I don’t go to the beach to be judged by assholes like you and I don’t appreciate you starting a thread making fun of overweight people like myself. Go to another beach next time a-hole.

People like the taste but it's no more of a concern when it comes to obesity than any other sugar. Just easier to consume due to the foods/drinks it is in.

Sugar in abundance still isn't good for health but most health benefits come from weight loss not certain diets unless you are one of the rare hyper responders. And even then, resting blood sugar, blood triglycerides, lipid size and a few other metrics are good indicators of what really is going on.

777 has a long history on this site proving his knowledge, if you are qualified let's hear it. Until then you are saying shite that's been debunked by science because you feel it's thay way.

Let's just be objective here, who should we believe given those facts?

I pretty much agree with a lot of what y'all have said. But science also can be bought and paid for. We've had carbs shoved down our throats as the biggest thing we need in our diets.

It's basically been, carbs good, fats bad. Which isn't the entire truth on the matter.

My GF and I went to the Springs about a month ago. I actually saw some really hot girls in tiny arse bikinis which is fantastic, it's why I wear glasses.

BUT THEN.

A fat group came...and I mean grossly fat. It had to have been 8-10 of them. The were wearing way to little, had weird headbands and one fricking chick literally had a cat head on her damn head(like a mascot head). They were absolutely disgusting and kept yelling, chanting, doing weird shite. Luckily their fat asses can't be in the heat for too long so they left after 30 minutes. Was horrifying though. Right in my view of four girls tanning by the water with very small bottoms as well, to make it worse.

I've never been sugar is bad. But cutting out foods and drinks with hfcs has helped me. I also find consuming that stuff make me stay hungry.

People are diff, I get it. But my brother kills root beers like it's no one's business. He blames all this other shite on why he's a 4x, I've told him to just cut that shite out of your diet and you will lose weight.

It's helped you because you are taking in way less calories and it does cause cravings. I just meant they aren't medically addiciting like cocaine and heroin. People aren't out sucking dick for a bag of sugar is what I mean.

I am of the belief you have to earn carbs as per tend to over eat them causing them to go into a caloric surplus. I generally prescribe for people to hit their daily protein goal and their weekly calorie. Outside of protein, where they get calories from is up to them. Usually people have better adherence this away as they only have to worry about two things and have lots of felxibility and one bad day doesn't ruin the whole week.

Too much money and a sedentary lifestyle. They live to excess in those countries. We just have a lot of poor frickers who spend all of their money at Golden Corral.
