I have to go to Wisconsin for work fairly often and have a trip in December booked. Looked at the schedule and there's a home game so I bought tickets. I'm scared my southern arse is going to freeze to death, but it will be a fun experience. They get rowdy at Lambeau. Anyone been to Packers game there before?

Travel Board and CSB.
It'll be cold. Dress properly and you'll survive. People on this board treat the cold like it's the worst fate one could face. The fact of the matter is if you know what you're doing and aren't a pussy it's not a big deal.

I’ve been putting a crap ton a miles on our SUV so there’s a good chance for a warmer than average winter.

I would bet you will LOVE watching game at Lambeau Field, but you should pack a sweater or six.

9 of us went back in 07. It was a December 9th game vs Oakland. 2' of snow on the ground and it never got above 21 degrees for the 4 days we were there. There was 2" of ice under your feet in the stands. Locals said it was unusual for it to be that cold that early. These boys from South MS had a great time!

Packer games are a blast. Go early and take in the tailgating. Brats and beer will be flowing.
Yeah it will be cold as shite but layer your clothes and don’t leave skin exposed and you will be ok.

I was up there 2 in December of '16 and it was hovering around -10 that week. Unusually cold even for them at that time of year. I'd never experienced that kind of cold and it was brutal. I go skiing every year and handle that fine, this was flat out painful. Going outside the hairs in my nose would freeze, I had ice cycles in my beard. That wasn't being a puss, that was being a southerner out of his element. I don't have clothes for that type of weather outside of ski gear.
That said, let a yankee come down here during the summer when it's 95 degrees and 95% humidity if you want to see a pussy.

Me and a buddy went to the Packers Cowboys game a few years back...had an absolute blast. Hang out the Sat before and take the stadium/hof tours. Its a great experience...we too went in Dec, was the warmest game ever in Dec...in the 60s and rainy. We were drinking beer so we didnt care.

Suck it up and invest in a good coat if you don’t already have one. It’ll be a good experience.
That said, I did my Lambeau trip in September because I ain’t crazy.

Have always wanted to goto a winter nfl game up north. Just enjoy the cold, come home and it’ll be 90 with 100% humidity still

Your body is gonna suck your weiner and nads into itself and you’ll have a hard time trying to tinkle.
Best thing you can do is just not go and avoid all the hassle.

I'm no meteorologist, but I predict it might be chilly

You will have a blast. As others stated, go tour the stadium the day before and take in all it has to offer. It really is great. Get there early and bounce around a couple tailgates.
I went several years back when Matt Flynn broke all kinds of QB records against the Lions. It was 12 degrees that day and windy. It’s cold but a different kind of cold. Just bring a couple layers you can peel off the drunker you get.

I grew up half an hour from Lambeau and worked as a security guard at the stadium for a few years in the mid 90’s and have season tickets.
The game day experience there is more similar to a college game day than it is to an NFL game day. Do a little bit of research ahead of time and find a place to park on a side street instead of in someone’s yard. You’ll save some money and you can get reasonably close without having to walk to far. Just drop in to any tailgate you find, don’t be a jerk, and people will fill you up with food and alcohol. The stadium is plopped down right in a residential area. A few commercial locations nearby but for the most part it is residential.
The bars around the stadium are kinda “meh” and overpriced. If you really want to have a good time get out of town a few miles and spend some time at more of a rural establishment. That’s where you’ll get a better sense of unique Wisconsin culture where people don’t take themselves too seriously and are out to have a good time regardless. The places close to the stadium tend to attract more of a douchebag crowd.
For a late season game bring in a piece of cardboard to put under your feet. It’ll insulate them more than you realize if it’s a cold game. My perception of what is “cold” is skewed because I’m from there but for us locals 15 degrees isn’t bad at all. Once you get into the single digits we start to feel it more...however....if it’s -10 with the sun shining and no wind it is more pleasant than a damp windy day with temps in the mid to upper 30’s. The muddy playoff game in ‘97 had temps near 40 and it sucked. A week later for the NFC title game it was -3 at kickoff and it was much more comfortable.
Head into the stadium earlier than what you might normally do because things can get bottled up at the gates going in because of security screenings. Give yourself at least 45 minutes if not more before kickoff to do this.
After the game head over to where the opposing team’s bus is and when that bus leaves moon them. It’s a long standing tradition to do this which is what prompted Randy Moss “moon” the crowd years back in a playoff game.

Start eating now. Try to add about 20-25 pounds of fat by December. It'll give you a nice layer of insulation, and as a bonus, you'll more like the Green Bay locals.
