Same thing happened at a previous employer of mine. Although, the young (early 20s) personal assistant made actual (physical cards) purchase with a company credit card. CFO was furious...

Multiple employees got a portion of their Christmas bonuses with said gift cards.

You can't use commas in an e-mail address. Commas are used to separate multiple e-mail addresses in the To line.

Apparently, this is pretty common, as my company has recently done some simple IT security training that mentions this scam. Sounds stupid on the surface, but if my boss were to send me an urgent e-mail to do this, I would do it without another thought. I would certainly get a police report done on this.

And, thanks for having the nads to post...you likely kept more than one other people from falling for the same thing.

I delete about 95% of my email without reading it, even if it's from administration. If they actually need me, they call or text me. I hate email...too much bullshite.
