I find it strange how men get attacked for expressing reservations about getting married

Divorce means losing half of everything you own + alimony(maybe for life).
And that doesn't even factor in kids/child support.
If divorce occurs after 20 or 30 years there is no coming back from that.
How can a man look at the divorce rates, the potential carnage, and not have reservations?
But if a man is hesitant for his lifelong financial future to hinge on the emotions of his current girlfriend then he is a misogynist.
Men are expected to just sign the deal without reading the small print.

Well don't get married then if you are placing finances above your potential spouse. You aren't ready for the commitment and sacrifice required to say married.

Not sure why people don’t utilize pre-nuptial agreements more often. Seems like it would save folks a lot of headaches.

I find it strange how it’s perfectly legal for a woman to wake up one day, take her husband for half his worth and then some, before taking his kids for 5 days a week (if she can’t find a way to get full custody, of course)

Being married to someone you really like with awesome kids is the best thing in the world. I'm sure having that flipped upside down would be one of the worst things in the world.

You don’t own all of it and she takes half. She already owns half of the community. She is just taking her half.

I still endorse marriage.
If you'd asked me 5 years ago, I'd say if you're not a loser and you don't make horrendous decisions you'll be fine. I still think those are far and away the biggest contributors. If the average guy getting married listened and took the advice of his most reasonable counsel, they'd avoid like 80% of these situations.
Now, I'll soften it a bit today, because I do think we're seeing sort of a latent wide-spectrum level of damage to women that is making "normal" marriage harder and less fulfilling. The attention/influencer/social media ecosystem is horrible and it impacts most women. I don't mean they're cheating or looking to level up, but we're probably at a historic high for lifestyle expectations and dopamine/attention needs, and it's created this simmering low-level resentment or discontent in a ton of marriages most people would think are "normal" from the outside, IMO.
