One word for you. STAY. You are two years from graduation (24ish)? Learn some new skills in your downtime and keep your nose clean. Look for ways to move up until you can leverage that into a better position either with your company or elsewhere.

In my downtime, I have learned how to solve a rubik's cube (3x3, 4x4, and 5x5) and I've learned some slight of hand and several card tricks. I've also been productive and have completed skills training for the future.

You say the schedule is great, that is three quarters of the battle to me. And then the money is good. GTFO of here with this shite! You sound blessed. Go find a fulfilling hobby that taps into the working with your hands. Give it a little time, next month might be nothing but asses and elbows!

I know the feeling. I work a very sedentary job and just feel like doing manual labor in the heat and cold often. Sweating my arse off or working my hands til they bleed from dry cracked skin in the cold is very appealing sometimes to me but in the end the money is good with what I already do so I swallow that pill and smile every bank transfer I make.

Friend of mine had a slow corporate job that he hated. He started using his down time to do large-scale real estate/investing (apartment complexes and such). Guy was the highest rated employee in his department while devoting over half of his work day to non-company stuff. He eventually built himself a job out of it. Left the company for a slight pay cut with way more capital. I am honestly a bit jealous of the guy for taking the risk.

It sounds dumb but i get it.

My first job out of college involved sitting in front of a computer for 40 hours a week doing mindless work. So miserable

My job now is much more intense but I actually feel like I’m actually getting something done

i always chuckle when i hear people complain that their jobs are too slow/boring/monotonous. it's a bad thing that you are not constantly stressed out or stretched too thin? c'mon now. that is an ideal scenario for most people. from someone in public accounting - the grass is not always greener on the other side.

Most office jobs don’t get busy for a while unless you have a ton of experience and can jump right into something. For now, people don’t think about you, don’t trust you and you don’t have a knowledge base yet.

My last job started off with about 18 months of being “slow” and asking for projects to do. 10 years later I didn’t have enough hours in the day or week to finish my work.

Right now you are learning that there is a difference between a job and a career. Right now you have a job. You need to decide if you will make it a career.

Yeah. You're not a team player. A Team player is a winner.

So what's that make you?

If u are looking for a career and not just a job for awhile, u should quit or ask for more responsibilities. Because somewhere in the next 10 years they will realize they are paying you a lot of money with minimal return and fire your tail. Then, you’ll be harder for others to hire bc you’ll be older but without the additional experience that would naturally occur with age.

5 months? That sucks.

The last 15 months have been insanely busy for me. It's wearing me down in ways that I never thought possible, but I do get more satisfaction from my job.
