I just don't like driving more than 10-12 hours. Really more than 8 if it's just me and not the whole family. Otherwise I'm paying for a flight.
Nowadays I agree. Used to not phase me one bit

Grand Canyon National park south entrance to Conway,ar.
But I’ll give you one with a story.
When I was 15 we had just moved to Florida from little ole avilla,ar (outside of Benton). I had left what I thought was the only girl in the world. After 3 weeks I had enough. Stole $85 out of my moms purse, jumped from the second floor window of our apartment and stole our 1992 ford van. I had never driven anything besides a lawn mower before. Spent 5 minutes in the drivers seat trying to figure out how to put it in gear, had never seen an automatic before, until I saw the words “depress brake to shift”. Drove from Fort Lauderdale until I was pulled over in Dothan, AL. That was a long freaking way with only a State Farm road atlas as my guide. Stupid me took the Florida toll road so I was eating away at my $85. Car had been reported stolen and I was reported missing. They took me to the police station. Got my one call, called the girl. Then had to call my parents collect. They had to bring my 12 year old sister with them in my dad ext cab ranger all the way up there. That ride back was brutal.

Furthest ever by myself was Avon, Co. to Baton Rouge. Was about 19 hrs. I almost stopped in Marshall, tx but I kept going. Longest nonstop trip with a co-driver, br to la.

Desert of Kuwait to outside An Nasiriyah
36 hours straight
RipIt and dip kept us awake
Side note: I crossed paths with General Mattis three times on the front lines on my first tour. One of the many reasons his Marines loved him.

From Baton Rouge to just shy of Ottawa, Canada - non stop , as a passenger with my brother when we were teenagers . The route we took was around 1700 miles. There were illegal substances involved on his part. He was a machine- plus he wanted to keep the hotel money my Dad gave us to buy weed.
The most I have ever driven was probably Denver to Baton Rouge with a cat nap at a rest stop along the way . I have a 12 hour max now. I regularly drive from Baton Rouge to Ft Pierce Florida and that’s 800 miles. That’s my max.

Me and my buddy drove to Indy to visit a friend well before the GPS days. We ended up well over 100 miles off course. Substances may have been involved. Went a few too many hours without checking the rand mcnally road atlas

Somewhere between Daytona and New Orleans.

Over 12 hours from Youngsville NC to Jackson, approx 750mi is the most I've driven straight.
I've driven from Destin to Jackson hungover on a Sunday once. Only about 300 miles but the worst 6+ hours I've ever spent in an automobile.
