If it was Feb of 2010 I remember driving back from St. Louis and coming over the bridge into Memphis from West Memphis and sliding the whole way down on the ice. Scary shite. ![](https://images.tigerdroppings.com/Images/Icons/IconLOL.gif)

I was on a work trip coming home from San Francisco. Got stuck in Dallas and decided to rent a car and drive home. Took me 15 hours driving in a damn blizzard until about an hour South of Shreveport ![](https://images.tigerdroppings.com/Images/Icons/IconLOL.gif)

Aspen to Beaumont. It was in 1989 when my pawpaw died and I was working in Aspen. Left Aspen at 1 pm and got to Beaumont at about 9am. I hallucinated from Trinidad to Ft Worth whilst driving in the dark.

I used to drive from Eight Mile, AL to St. Martinville, La every other weekend. Does that count?

New Orleans to Vegas and Vegas to New Orleans. Stopped only for gas. Took about 25 hours each way. The last 100 miles before getting into Vegas is brutal. It’s a never ending nothing.

Reading thru this thread is crazy.. . i love road trips, i mean love them- but some of you dudes driving 17 hrs or 22 hrs straight without stopping makes me cringe... Who are you competing against? Is this Cannonball Run IV?
Hell, even as a broke college student, i drove from South Florida to BR once but was smart enough to stop and spend $30 (this was the 90s) at a Motel 6 to spend the night.. Road trips are a blast if you take your time, stop to see interesting things, and have some great music to listen to.. but i’ll be *** damned if i’m gonna spend 18 hrs straight in a vehicle on an interstate just trying to beat a clock.

I drive from Albuquerque to Huntsville, AL multiple times a year in 17 hours. I stop for gas, get out, run around, and go. If trucking wasn't regulated like it is, I'd make bank.

California to Illinois straight through with wife. Cant remember the hours, but it was long. Winter sucked driving through New Mexico and Missouri.
We've done that and NC to IL many times while in the military.

Drove from Atlanta to my grandmas in northern Wisconsin in one day, 17 and a half hour drive. I really enjoyed it though in a strange way, its cool watching the scenery slowly change around you.
I really like road trips now, commuting back and forth between Baton Rouge and where I grew up was an 8 hour drive so I got used to long rides pretty quickly and I eventually grew to like them. Just put on some podcasts and snag a few red bulls and let the road take you where youre going.

Houston to LA in ~ 17 hours
Stopped in Las Cruces, NM to sleep; Tombstone bc why not (wasn't worth it), Phoenix bc They had an In N Out and wherever i had to for gas, CBP checkpoints, or see something interest.
1546miles in 17hrs is an average of 91mph without stopping.
For every minute you stopped, you had to drive a minute at 180mph to keep that average.
