I will payoff my mom's house and lot and payoff her new house. Then I would by my sister a house.

I think LA doesn't require the winner's name to be made public.

I would change my phone# and disappear.

Also, I would make sure Chicken has 20 or more years paid clear for TD.

It would be a fun problem to have. I don't know why anyone would be more frightened than happy about winning money that big.

Yep. I'd much rather have the issues of how to spend/invest/gift 1.5B than the "problems" I currently have.

Decline certain interviews. Let's say you couldn't stay anonymous. During the press conference I would make it know that I would only be doing one interview with the national news.
This is what I'd want to do, but the press will find you and probably won't stop nagging until you give them more. As we see every day, it's not easy to ignore them either. The easier thing to do IMO is just get it over with as soon as possible.

First of all, despite all of your efforts to maintain anonymity, the media would hunt you down and expose your identity. There would be no hiding. Unlike people who win 50 or 100 million, you will be a celebrity. Your every move will be watched.
who cares. You just won 1.5billion

You're wrong. People may not know you because you won 1.5 billion.

BUT there is no way they wouldn't know "SabiDojo, the acclaimed (or unexceptional depending on your perspective) poster from Tigerdroppings.com who won 1.5 billion."

of course it is. That's why you have the attorney set it up for you.
So you're putting nearly $1 billion into an LLC that is not in your name?

Yep....you know until the media figures out how to do a basic search on the La. SOS website.

I suppose you could make an attorney the managing member of the LLC, I don't see how that could end poorly.

Who cares? People will lose interest eventually and anyone I would give money to already knows who they are. I've been turning down beggars in my family for years. Wouldn't change just because I got a little more money.

If I win the money, there'll be big changes in college football. Nick Saban would not be at Alabama next year I guarantee.

One method to anonymity I'm surprised nobody has mentioned, is to legally change your name. Let Haywood Jablowme win the money. Change it back after you've collected. Still form the llc. But it seems like that would solve the problem.

I would rather those problems than having to work for a living. Going fishing and golfing wherever and whenever I want is appealing to me. I won't sweat telling people no.

Fine, feel free to share some with me.

I know my problems would kick in with my family size. My mom was from a family of 11 kids. Throw in cousins that are like brothers and sisters, and my dad's side, and there's 30+ people I'd want to help out as much as possible, without turning into a situation like the West Virginia winner (robbed of 500k on a strip club parking lot and granddaughter with a huge allowance who died of a drug overdose).

I'd definitely pay off their students loans and mortgages, Thanksgiving and Mardi Gras would crazier than usual, and I'd pay for any education they or their kids desire.

After that, things would get tricky. I like how Cuban said that if they ask for big money, they are going to be trying to dick that teet forever. It's inevitable that relationships will change, but I'm not going to support them. But I would make sure their lives were comfortable.

Luckily, my dad's side has never really made an effort to get together, other than Christmas. But if we're on a strict Facebook relationship, I'll be laughing when they coming asking for cash

It's a burden I'm willing to bear.

I'm certainly a big enough a-hole to laugh at people asking for money no matter what their story.

You know you can just give an allowance to your parents and have them take care of their respective families so it isn't your burden to bare?
