If I were to win (which I know I won't), people would be better off avoiding asking me for money. There would be a fairly big list of people that I would plan to give money to. If you aren't on the list, nothing you say will get you on it. If you are on the list and you ask before I give you anything, I'm taking you off the list.

1. You say "no" to anyone who asks for money.
2. You have an unlisted phone number.
3. You go on an extended vacation for a few months to places where people don't care how much money you have because they all have just as much if not more.
4. You stop being a puss.

i'd buy my mom a nicer house than what she plans on building out on her family land

i'd buy my family's farm corporation

i'd start a company for my sister and brother and invest like $1.5M in each so they could have more freedom in their artistic careers

i'd be in film school with the quickness after flying to meet my ftj friends for the first time and going to europe

Tired of my Google Now page clogged with filler articles about it. "Here's why you won't win" or "here's another a-hole we interviewed about money management."

I mean you can easily stay out of the limelight. Yes in the days and weeks that follow your name will be out there, but that stuff goes away if you stay out of trouble.

As said, go take a 2 month tour of europe without any worries

Unless you're an OT baller, you're a thousandaire...and you likely have no problem turning down monetary requests from homeless ppl on a daily basis. You see the signs, the missing limbs, the missing teeth, the dirty and tattered clothing, yet you say "I don't have any cash on me."

Come up with a similar excuse or just don't stop to listen or roll your window down, when you hypothetically win the lottery and have ppl with much less to their name asking you for money. Same shite different toilet.

The people I care about will get a small cut. The people I don't will get told to kick rocks. And that will be highly entertaining.

I don't really have too many people in my life that are sorry sacks of shite that have shitty lives due to their own mistakes. So the people who will beg and plead are already nobodies to me. It's not like I'll lose anyone that I really care about.

The small handful of people related to me who are POS will probably ask for money. And I will derive great pleasure from telling them to kiss my arse. I'd probably even string em along just for a little bit before telling them to get fricked. Petty? Probably, but don't talk no shite, won't be no shite.

After making them (privately) shed their last bit of dignity I'd hit em with a single benjamin and my reaction will be

My closest friends are people I met in grad school. I don't talk to any of my childhood friends anymore.

My friends now are people I consider best friends, and it's a small group. I would love to share my wealth with them.

So I have the ability to get away from the people I don't want to deal with AND do it with $1.5 billion? You see that as a bad thing?

I'm in a similar situation. Sure, all my friends would rather have more money than they do now, but I'm lucky enough that no one in my regular circle is hurting or anything. Young professionals with jobs.

I almost definitely wouldn't give them cash. Maybe pay off their student debts and take them on some OT style vacations. They wouldn't get straight cash or go on my bankroll. My gift to you is that you now have a 600-1k or more per month in your pocket because you don't have to worry about your student loans anymore. I'd be pretty shocked if any of my friends would scoff at that.

Nah. Whoever wins will be a media darling for about a week and then everyone will move on.

This is why, as I stated last drawing, I would wait until the last day I could to claim the prize, just to frick with absolutely everyone.

Can you imagine, 1.5 billion just lingering out there waiting to be claimed??

It shall be glorious.

Word. My best friend's wife is a tax attorney at a bigwig firm, so I wouldn't mind paying her to handle my finances. He and his wife would be able to retire off of my account alone, and then he would be able to write like he always wanted.

I would do more than just money. I would do something more personal, too.

It would be a fun problem to have. I don't know why anyone would be more frightened than happy about winning money that big.

Oh, I think he's right that this winner will be wayyyyyyyy more sought after than any previous lottery winner ever.

I'd like to take my chances with that though.

And that being said, that's just at the beginning. The media won't care as soon as they get their interview.

As much as I shy away from anything on an obvious smaller scale, I think the best thing to do is make the media tour for a couple of days, then be gone. If you don't, they won't stop hounding you until you do.
