I can’t wrap my head around when these crazy bastards say Elon buying twitter is a threat to free speech. That is the whole point of him buying twitter so people can say whatever they want on twitter. These people are a part of a cult and they are batshit crazy.

People don’t know the difference between censorship and freedom of speech so long as your speech agrees with their ideology.

Why are you surprised? The same group that's caterwauling about Musk buying Twitter are the same ones demanding mask mandates, vaccine passports, business shutdowns and other unconstitutional freedom restrictions.
And people wonder how the Bolsheviks and Hitler walked into power.

He says he wants to make Twitter more supportive of free speech. Of course, you are putting a social media platform in the hands of an eccentric billionaire who has run afoul of securities law on occasion for his tweets, and is volatile. I mean, what could go wrong?

Elon only cares about free speech when it benefits him. Don’t fall for this idea that he genuinely cares about that when he still does business with China.

Just like your boy Lebron. I don't see you criticizing Lebron for being on Xi's payroll though.

Funny that.

Again, up is down, etc.

Sure, in a sane world taking a public company private in these circumstances should cause some eyebrows to raise. But public companies are on the leading edge of pushing speech restrictions and thought policing a public that doesn't want it, so it seems unlikely Musk could worsen the situation. If he destroys Twitter - that's a net win from what we have now.

Most progs in this country actually do believe in censorship. It's a safe space to only hear things they agree with and support. Anyone who disagrees is a 'racist, bigot, homophobe, etc'. Life is much easier for dim people who live in a vacuum.

People who have commoditized speech want to protect their livelihood. They don’t want to compete in the free market of ideas. Much easier if they can control a monopoly.

The same ppl who didn’t want musk buying Twitter are the same people who visit the public library weekly and ask for books to be taken out of the collection that doesn’t agree with their ideals as well.

Put in more trans lit but take out huckleberry Finn

Please don't hang your hat on the 'China' thing. Who has NOT continued business with China? Are you butt-hurt because you drive a Tesla and have a twitter account? Please! Give us a better reason than that.

In their clown world, it's free speech only if they agree with it.
