I canceled Cox today, and it illustrated why Cox sucks.

Had AT&T internet installed yesterday, followed by DirecTV Streaming. It's great.
Tried messaging with Cox to cancel my account. Was clearly chatting with someone in India based on the bad English. They would not get to the point and only wanted to ask me a series of stupid questions (presumably to try and keep me). After a wasted half hour, I terminated the chat.
Called on the phone later and got a lady (also from India) who, while pleasant, was clearly going through a checklist of questions and sales pitches. "I already have my new service installed. No more questions please. I just want to cancel my service." After 52 minutes, I am finally free. What a shithole company with shithole service.

I was so happy yesterday when I got on my street and saw all marking for them to lay fiber optics, can't wait until I have another option for internet.

Just wait until DirecTV suddenly has a contract dispute with Fox 30 minutes before the Super Bowl starts and you have a house full of people and a black screen.

Some areas you are still forced to use Cox if you want at least decent internet. AT&T will offer me 50Mbps for $60/mth
Crazy thing is my neighbors behind me all have fiber, 5 blocks over in front of me has fiber; they just happened to skip over my little section of the neighborhood.

frick cox. I switched two ATT Fiber two years ago and could not be happier. I despise Cox.

ATT customer service may suck but the internet itself is better and more reliable than cox

One of my coworkers went with AT&T 5g home network with no issues yet. Plug and play installation.

Eh, I’ve had zero issues with AT&T fiber.
I used YouTube tv for streaming so no issues there other than price hikes

I gathered all of the cable boxes and router and went to the Cox office to cancel my service when I decided to cit the cord. Literally took about 5 minutes. No questions asked

Cable companies are like airlines. Everybody complains about all of them, it just depends on your personal experience as to which you prefer. I’ve had cox my entire life and never had any issues. I’m not saying they’re the best, I’ve just never run into any problems. I also only pay for wifi so I don’t deal with them a whole lot.

Left Comcast a few years ago and went through the same rigamarole, I already had service through a local ISP with no data caps and symmetric gigabit speeds.

Or he can just sign up for a free trial of YouTubeTV in a matter of minutes to watch the game that way.
