I will never live in one of those DR Horton type communities. Our real estate agent convinced us to go see just one and when trying to take a picture of just the house I counted 4 others in the photo.

HVAC buddy of mine says DR Horton is notorius for their installed systems failing after 3 years requiring complete replacement in most cases

Says his company could rely almost entirely on the revenues brought in by DR Horton homes

I live on a lake in ETx. My neighbor built his house in 2014 for about 450K. He just sold it for a hair under 1 million. My house is about 1000 sq ft larger than his and slightly newer with a better waterfront. Should I be happy?

I bought a 3,000 sq ft 5 bedroom 3 bath on a bayou in June for 139k but it was built in 1940. Inside had been remodeled though. Have had to spend money replacing fence, fixing the yard up and replacing old wooden deck with a screen in porch. All in all got about 175k in it. But I live in the ms delta and houses are cheap here

those bedrooms must be tiny

Depends on the layout. My house has 1 large master, 3 decent size bedrooms, 1 small that is used as an office. Living and dining rooms are huge with 12 ft ceilings. Kitchen is a bit small but not bad

I have a good friend in Central Arkansas that bought an absolute pad there for like 200k. The same house in south LA would easily go for 450k

On repairs we're pretty lucky to know people. A couple of the neighbors have been really helpful with advice on who to call. Youtube has been a godsend as well

My house is up about 25 percent since I bought in 2018 if I had to guess. 2.75 interest on refi last year. Feeling good.
