Now that it’s only 2 years from the creation of AI and we can no longer tell what’s real and what’s fake. All forms of entertainment can be created easily with a few key strokes and no longer holds any value.

Society will begin to value real life again. No longer will we be exposed to to places we’ve never seen and stories we could have never imagined when it can all be generated in a few minutes.

I think you see more stratification between smart people and dumb people

I never see commercials because I don’t watch kneelfl like yall do. I never see any ai

Basically you can tell someone is smart because they only watch the sopranos and listen to music that is 25+ years old

If what you see on your phone screen, computer, or tv can’t be discerned from real and fake what value does it hold?

I hope you are correct. In the same way that nobody gives a shite about how great at chess a computer is, I hope people will continue to value the tangible, real life creations as opposed to those generated by AI. Or maybe AI helps create ReadyPlayer1 and everybody will want to live virtually…. We’ll see what happens.

It’s definitely going to be an interesting decade for Hollywood.

Why create anything when AI will make it cheaper, better, and instantly?

Kind of like the theoretical first people who travel to a new planet outside our solar system - the technology to get there will pass them up before arrival and they won’t actually be the first to get there.

Actors in Hollywood are completely fricked. AI can be trained with the same mechanisms that make said actors and actresses great. Then their roles are no longer needed. They can simply take the idea of them and their talents and slightly tweak it so it’s not an ai generated copy, but an improved version.

I could be wrong here, but I think there is going to be an uncanny valley effect with any sort of “AI” acting, and humans are not going to enjoy it as much as real actors for a long time.

Yes these short trailers are impressive, but even in them there are plenty of tells that something is weird and simpliified versus an actual physical production. In a 2 hour movie there will be tons of those instances that completely take you out of the experience and humans will reject it.

Again, that is what I think and what I hope, so bias could be leading me astray. We’ll see what happens.

i thought about something similar today. was posting a pic on facebook of my kids and facebook asked me if i wanted to let ai write a caption... no, that's weird.

but i also noticed on other posts facebook askes me if i want to let ai write a response to other people's posts.

so basically you have ai talking to ai talking to ai. what's the point?

I agree with this. I think all the "did it for the 'gram" stuff will come to a screeching halt as it all gets replaced with (or is indistinguishable from) AI

AI will make people dumber and destroy critical thinking skills

I support AI if it will allow everyone to quit jobs, and AI serve us in every manner possible. AI will be drillhands, power line operators, doctors, take out our trash, fix our A/C, build our houses, produce crops.

That would solve so much of world's problems because then money wouldn't be an issue. Everyone would get their dream house. Money wouldn't be an issue if AI takes over all of our jobs. People are afraid of AI taking their job, but if they take over every job, then everything becomes free.

At least you're not going the Tucker Carlson route of suggesting some kind of terrorism that's akin to book burning, but I don't know. The reactions will be varied. I'll not try say how "society" in general will react as AI progresses.
Discernment is important regardless of the source. AI has not rendered human discernment obsolete. Not even close. Perhaps you need improved discernment.
