Looks like it’s barely used by high school kids where we live. I see they snap chat a shite ton, but those other sites may just be too permanent (the content they post) for this generation.

Who are the 300 million followers of, say, Selena Gomez? Boomers, foreign kids? Who is creating content if it’s not high school kids, who I just assumed cranked it out?

The Only kids that use Twitter are the ones like your son who are trying to get recruited.

ETA:Teens do use instagram though.

i'm pretty instagram is still pretty big with the kids, but definitely not as big as it was for our age. i think it's heading down the same path as FB.

Those are his only posts. Months go by between them though.

Most kids just lie though…got an offer! No you didn’t.

I assumed they took a bunch of Insta photos…but that’s not the case with my son’s friends.

Facebook and Insta are definitely not en vogue with the hip kids anymore.

I don’t give a flying frick either way, but I know for sure that using either of those is not something anyone thinks is cool.

TikTok is the "in" app right now. Those who went to high school in the early 2010s 4like myself were the last to access social media mainly through desktop/laptop computers rather than smartphones/tablets.

my teens aren't allowed to have social media (tiktok, instagram, snapchat so far.)

my oldest asked to download locket. i reviewed it for a while and said "sure, but like everything, you know the rules for this."

it just shows random pictures his friends take throughout the day. after looking at some with him, i said, this is just lower quality instagram. he replied, yeah, but nobody is on instagram anymore.

Yea, I guess they want control over who sees what. They have large communities on Snapchat, so they can pick what group, or person, see’s their content.

Crazy how fast these things come and go. Can’t be good for the company who holds the bag in the end.

I’m sure they do.

I can’t even imagine what my dumb-arse generation would have done with that.

As someone who teaches teenagers, I have a small sample size for how they use social media.

Tik Tok and Snapchat are their main apps for communication with each other and for trends/online content. Most will still have an IG page because they’re all brainwashed into thinking their life is a brand.

None use Facebook. Very few are on Twitter. Gamers might have a YT channel but are probably on Twitch.

They all start out for the kids.

Facebook initially required a .edu email to register. When they expanded to allow anyone the parents would join to keep track of the kids.

Instagram and TikTok never had that requirement but it definitely started out for the younger population. Now everyone is on the different social medias.

Believe the median age of Facebook is now 46.

Twitter is a cesspool.
