The passive aggressive move would be get the highest grade in the course.

Just wait till it's a mandatory quarterly course once you are in your career

Cultural and gender diversity works well in social sciences as it more readily offers new perspectives. I think it can also help in sales and various customer service industries where various soft skills are more valued, as it can help the business relate to a wide variety of clients.
Diversity for the sake of diversity in technical positions is silly. Let the best man or women win regardless of identifiers. I agree with the OP that a company should do nothing to hold back certain types of people based on anything other than work performance.

Up to? That's probably the starting point.
From there it's on to transgendered queers of multiple racial backgrounds who refer to themselves as Ze of the Squirrelkin, print the job app!

Fixed. This is the predominant philosophy of classes like this. It can be proven by trying to suggest gender and/or race-blind ideas then watching them get trounced with the quickness. Were these classes truly about diversity within a framework of quality/competency, they wouldn't be focused solely on numerical metrics.

When you get into the workplace you absolutely must join a diversity network or you will be labeled a problem person and will have to watch your back. All the big companies promote the LBGQTwhatever and other minority networks hard. The work place has changed and not for the better. Whatever happened to rewarding the best candidate on merit regardless of other things?

Can you ask a question I’ve been trying to find an answer to for a while?
Which is more diverse MLB, NFL, or NBA?

When they try to shut you down just tell them they are committing hate speech and infringing on your 1st Amendment and that you plan to file a complain against all of them with office of student affairs or whatever they call it there.

I am 30. No idea on the age of the others since this is an online class and all of our interactions are via the discussion forums. I took this class because I was running out of online electives to take and this is supposed to be an easy A. I am going to cheat as much as possible to make sure I don't learn any of this shite

I had to take one of those for work. Was like a mandated 6-course thing. I was zoned out most of the time.
One class did get my attention. The teacher was talking about the "five stages of multiculturalism,"or some shite like that. It went something along the lines of...
Stage 1: acknowledgement
Stage 2: understanding
Stage 3: empathy
Stage 4: acceptance
Stage 5: inclusion
So she starts rattling on about how we are responsible for proactively progressing through these five stages for other cultures.
It was about then that my bullshite alarm started ringing.
I raised my hand and said "with all due respect, I don't see this as very realistic."
When she asked what I meant, I said "Well, there are cultures out there that I will acknowledge and understand, but I will not go beyond that. Sorry, but I'm not inviting members of ISIS to my backyard BBQ. Where does my responsibility to 'empathize' and 'accept' end, and their responsibility begin?"
Thankfully, I work in an environment which got my comments some nods and a couple of "yeahs"
It was amusing to watch the teacher stumble over her words responding to me. It was not a satisfactory answer in the least, and completely trampled over her own logic that she'd just been preaching moments before.

I need to find the passage in the book. The book states that the most unbiased way of hiring is with cognitive ability tests and not giving the name or race and just hiring based off of the scores. It then went on to say that this method shouldn't be used because historically it leads to fewer minorities and women being hired. dafuq

I’d rather put my head through a food processor

Be sure to point out that the collapsed walkway at FIU was designed by an "all female" engineering firm.

That's where white male privilege comes into the picture.
Because of the privilege you were afforded while growing up (read: they think the system was designed to cater to your needs/abilities more than women and minorities) you naturally excel.
It's all totally bullshite, but that's a different discussion.

If I could get someone to pay for it, and the outcome didn’t matter, I would love to take a bunch of SJW classes and do nothing but lob bombs and generally make the whole thing into a shitshow.
That said, I think I’d rather gargle sour milk than take such a “class” where my grade mattered in the least.
