I get what you're saying. But when somebody starts their own business and it grows into a success. That owner has the right and privilege to offer his kids a job regardless of merit. However unfair that might be to more qualified people. Anybody that gets caught up in the privilege trap forgets that the privilege is more than likely earned at some point by a former family member's hard work and successes.

You're gonna hate it anyway so you might as well play a game with yourself. Start off subtle and eventually get more radical and see what kind of ridiculous shite you can get them to agree to.
I did something similar with my Women’s Studies class at LSU back in 2005. Except I slowly started becoming more anti-woman in my arguments and class discussion. I never thought of them as SJWs back then, they were more moderate, but I used to rile some of them up.
My favorite was my open discussion topic, “Women don’t belong in the home and the kitchen but it just so happens to be their most favored place (insert ridiculous data reference from obscure source). Why is that? Discuss.”
I never had so many bitches wanting to kill me in my life.

I'm sure there are many large liberal moronic compannies that have these initiatives.
I feel like every young engineer I work with at the plants are either girls are minorities. Rarely is it a white male, even though my mechanical engineering graduating class from LSU was about 95% white male.
I'm not saying these girls or minorities aren't good, just find it odd given the known statistics of ME graduates.

Sounds like where I work.

You did this to yourself by taking that class.

Maybe just sit there with a shite eating grin all the time.
Say nothing.
They will eventually ask why your smiling - just calmly state how great it feels to be the most powerful man in the room.

You are treating affirmative action vs. unemployment as a zero sum game. It's not, and that's very racist/sexist of you to think that way
If you want. I can provide the links reinforcing what I'm about to say.
The scenario isn't AA vs Welfare specifically. Its more private individualized interests vs the corporate and government relationship.
As long as a welfare standard of living exists, it will always be compared to the lowest common denominator minimum wage lifestyle.
The ballot box comment actually reinforces my point. Look at women's suffrage in the late 19th and early 20th century. Within a few decades upon suffrage most western countries implemented a welfare state.
Do you think this is a coincidence?
Look. I agree that the better candidate should get the job.
What I'm saying is that our government is gynocentric and creates a de facto " zero sum game". Its unfortunate, but their is not enough political power to change this.

Ask them to define diversity. Where I am diversity is only superficial. If it looks like a Benetton ad, it's diverse. Diversity of thought is not accepted as diversity but is treated as homogeneity unless skin color is different. They don't like when I point that out.

You're being immersed in toxic femininity.

No, I think it's because men are fricking pussies and would rather not have a fight with their wife for saying NO to another woman.

Methinks you'd be hard-pressed to find any of this in those classes

Wait, I thought diversity was an old, old wooden ship used in the Civil War era.

Possibly.
I took a deviant sociology class in College and I'm still in shock decades later

if its an elective and not "mandatory", then WHY !!!!!

That is a reality that many people face regardless of sex, race, or other orientation.
Its basically a lawful neutral that can be viewed as a lawful evil depending on what scale it is implemented, do you agree?
My real point is this: you are right since its legal.
So what would you suggest a qualified applicant do to find work?
If you're wondering "why is this guy playing devils advocate?" Its only to prove that the discrimination is not always a simple case of : the lazy person who isn't exactly like me will get picked cause 'muh minority' .
Hiring is double edged sword using both of our examples. You just replacing one form of unintentional discrimination with another.

I'm about to graduate. I'm taking 21 hours this semester and went with this class since it fills some requirements (senior level class, on the list of approved electives for my major, etc) and is online so I don't actually have to go to class. I have a 98% in the class right now just by picking the answer to the question that seems like bull shite.

Yes, lets get more women in the workplace so they can get most of the men fired because they looked at them the wrong way and scream harassment.
