Why you mad bro? I agree. Let's " seriously overhaul" all the things that delay Social Justice. Starting with The Rule of Law. That's why I love me some President Dreamy McMompants. He's all about that. Until The Law guarantees results that are friendly to Social Justice, it's invalid. Presumption of Innocence ? Screw that. Free Speech ? Who needs that shite. We need mandated Lesbian Dance Therapy, bike paths to the wind-powered light rail, Racial Justice panels in the neighborhoods, and Microagression Primal Scream Therapy in High School and such. All the shite that is new under the sun...

While I agree with some of the basic sentiment of your post, I think the older generation needs to realize that a lot of what you're "sick of" is a direct backlash against the previous generation's overzealous "moral majority", "family values", and "social conservatism".

This debate has also failed to mention the problems that automation and new technologies have created for the average blue collar worker. The factory jobs are all but gone thanks to this and outsourcing.

True. But it also fails to mention that good blue collar jobs were union controlled for the most part back in the day, and that you couldn't really get them unless you had a connection.
It fails to mention how the unions sold us out. My first job good job, which was manual labor, saw me earning half what the guy next to me made, all because he was about five years older and had been in the union longer.

Yeah that shite is tiresome as hell. I prefer the New Moral Fundamentalism of The Left. We are much better at wagging our fingers at all those who disagree with us. If you disagree with us you are evil and a shite person. Plus we have The Universities, the Dominant Media Culture, Social Media, The Entertainment Industry out there to chill the speech of The Reactionaries. It is beautiful. Lower real wages. It is implicit in your argument that you assume non existent inflation to compare the two time periods. Really things are just a lot more complicated than either side is making things in this thread.

Beyond screwing up the economy, I'll go as far to say that Baby Boomers are responsible for screwing up American culture. By deregulating the media, they prevented local culture from sustaining, and turning our country into a homogenous culture.
In all the places I've lived or spent a large amount of time, Louisiana, particularly southern, is the last unique part of our country. And that's probably because they're so proud, hard headed, and stubborn.
