not taking a side but that trend was started decades ago and really rejuvenated a lot of areas/cities that had been given up on all over the country, maybe they're just leaving because they are empty nesters, downsizing, or going to assisted living?

Actually quite the opposite. The public in general is growing sick of 'institutions' such as law enforcement that have slowly and quietly become policy enforcement tools for the government. These 'institutions' are attempting to enforce laws that the public not only disagrees should be laws, but also understands that the laws exist mainly to finance the institutions themselves.
Some things have gotten way out of hand in this country. It's time for a change if you ask me.

As a millenial, the only thing i really stand for is marriage equality. The whole "all cops are racist" lets go support mike brown and the people of ferguson is disgusting to me. i have blocked a few (white)people on Facebook who every day post an article or something condemning the racist police or government for holding back black people. I guess its some weird white guilt thing.

We need a total overhaul of every Institution, Principle, Tradition and Ideal in American life. All that stuff belongs to Herstory. Our Noble Idea can't wait for that shite.
Start with The Rule Of Law. Who needs that shite? Especially when it fails to guarantee the results we require. We need to think of ourselves as The Anti-Sabanites, screw the process, lets just implement the RESULTS we demand without all that screwball Individual Liberty process bullshite.

When people are being kidnapped and taken away from their families for years, or for the rest of their lives in many cases, because the government refuses to let people medicate themselves and their children with a substance that has been proven to be more effective at treating many disabilities than anything else on the market today, yea, we have a big problem. But just keep in line and keep letting the pharmaceutical, alcohol, and prison industries wash that brain baw......keep in line I said!
No one is saying that we need to abolish every law that exists, but I think most people agree that we need a serious overhaul of justice in this country.

We need more 80 year old people with plenty of money that won't retire to run businesses so they can pay there employees $9/hour and then not understand how they have trouble making it work.

Do you really believe the actual rate of unemployment is 5.5%?
The real rate of unemployment is closer to 13%. The only reason they can report 5.5% is b/c they choose not to count people who have stopped looking for a job. I'm also assuming you've never heard of underemployment, which is close to 6%

just to stir it up, the tax laws were a lot different then too, everything was tax deductible, savings account, cd rates, etc., were a lot higher as well, everyone adapts and it all seems to balance out
