This may be a valid point. I do get the sense that the distance between the first and the second rungs of the ladder has increased.

That may reflect an reality that fewer people should have made the next step in years past. Or it might reflect that you are competing with the entire world for work, which I was not at your stage in life (although there are offsetting benefits).

This strikes me as a common millennial tactic. You haven't addressed my points or my data. You've simply posited "I don't believe you" as though that is analysis or argument.

I made a point. I backed it up with numbers. If you have different numbers, state them. If you see a logical flaw in my inferences, point it out. Otherwise, give the fingers a rest, you child.

That may be. But tell me why. Give me a good reason, something to go on. Make an argument. Make a frickin point. Base it on some data, or some logic, or some self-evident truths with which any reasonable person must agree. Otherwise, you are just childishly bitching.

It's the issue that people think only education or experience make you qualified for a job. Most of the time, I have both. But because HR is filled with people who can't spot the real from the fake (and they were hired by people of the same quality), the turnover rate everywhere has skyrocketed.

I sat in on an interview recently and it was BS grabassing the entire time.

I thought the candidate was overstating her abilities and education, so I asked a simple math question which required logic. Logic to figure out the question. Simple addition and subtraction to answer.

After three tries, she swore it was a trick question.

Because I posed the question to her, all of the future interviews had to include the question. One problem, the two people from HR didn't understand it either.

They hired the original girl.

She won't last four months.
