Whay aboot all of that African "Air-dirt" That they said was going to quash everything for June, and possibly into July? Is that still a real thing?

it seems historically these early season Cape Verde waves tend to stay more southern and go into central america or mexico due to a strong atlantic ridge?

It's still there, not too bad though.

That, and the climo over Africa tends to move the launching point off of Africa farther to the South this time of the season.

You better not argue with dukke V, the weather master this season. A lot of people are depending on him for his forecasts.

Peej has said he has retired and gotten on the wagon. I hope so, but part of me hopes he has a small setback and threatens to whip someone's arse at least once this year. If I'm the one, that's just a bonus.
ETA: Peej....

He's already providing us with such valuable wisdom already, like 'timing is everything', and 'away we go!'. We're already more enlightened now than with anything that rds gives us.

Don't poke the bear, baw. No need in it. We can all get along.

Thanks, Otis. That drawing shows a big hole in the western Atlantic. Also, if that one that is goofing around by the Yucatan will go ahead and move off, it may clean the Gulf area up, like a Hoover vacuum.

A tropical depression could form next week in the Atlantic, hurricane forecasters said Friday morning. It's too early to tell if it could reach the Gulf of Mexico. As of 7 a.m., a tropical wave was over the eastern Atlantic and was producing disorganized showers and thunderstorms. It's moving west at 15 mph, and forecasters said a tropical depression could form during the early to middle part of next week. The system is expected to reach the Windward Islands and then the Caribbean next week.
