Yeah, it's really obvious TWC is some butthurt that this storm will stay out at sea. Same goes for many other weather media outlets.

The Today Show on NBC has spent the last 20 minutes really hyping this up.

The frying Pan platform has an interesting story

Used to be a light house out in the shallows of the Atlantic but got shut down and auctioned off when the coast guard decided it didn’t need it anymore.

The winning bidder paid $85,000. Since it’s in international waters, he could have done just about anything he wanted with it.
He turned it into an adventure spot where people can go and stay. There’s Shooting, golf, fishing, water sports, diving etc all from an abandoned platform miles out in the Atlantic; international

Pretty cool

I wish they would hype up “Coolest August on Record”. Some actual good news. Give the people a little pep in their step.

Doesn’t sell I guess.

I just walked out into our woods and when I came back the thermometer on the side of our house said it's 76F degrees.

At 9:45 AM on August 21?!?

I don’t have any real reason to think otherwise, but wanted to make sure Clemson game is good to go since this thread focuses more on gulf than Atlantic threats. Any OT weather experts care to weigh in?

Maybe he constantly watches this thread and silently judges the people who post dumb stuff.

Edit: That was not directed at you boxcar.

rds dc, if I'm reading the graphic in your OP correctly, 99L's chances for development decreased from orange (40-60%) earlier this afternoon back to yellow (<40%) as of 6:48 PM CDT.

Does that occur very often??
