The wave will pass through the carribean graveyard, could some of its energy make its wave through the Caribbean and into the gulf? I guess it’s possible but there’s no reason for concern for something that would be 15 days away.

News media keeps showing two abandoned beachfront homes at Rodanthe near where a friend lives. High tide normally has waves coming underneath them daily.

BTW, he is staying due zero need to leave knowing he might be inconvenienced a few days to a week.

But I LIKE to worry.

In fact, after years of practice I won a 1st Place trophy in Unnecessary Worrying.

But I really appreciate your kind words...

EDIT: Full disclosure: Hurricane Ida uprooted an oak tree in our yard and it came to rest in our master bedroom. It went through the roof, our bedroom ceiling and didn't stop until it came to rest on the floor. I'm pretty sure I have a mild case of PTSD lingering from that...

I've been in myrtle beach for this whole week and hardly anything has happened

No rain no waves....if you didn't know it was out there you never would know it was so close

Been hot and clear all week..I expected rough surf at least

This is a Hurricane thread and I just realized that Duke isn’t participating ( not Dukke V). Does anyone know what happened to him? He always provided valuable insights and information.

Im busy as hell, these look like fish storms (though Erin has been an interesting watch), and Ive generally not been checking TD as often.

Im alive, well, ready for football season.

And when the second kid came out with a full set of fingers and toes... snip snip.

Erin is approaching the East Hatteras buoy. 36 foot significant wave height. The center is still about 110 miles south of the buoy and should pass about 40 to 50 miles east of the buoy. 40 foot wave height may be measured at some time in the next few hours.

Congratulations on the kid…I guess if a storm threatens near we can issue a Titty Milk Watch like fools that like to talk about a Gumbo Weather Advisory.

Current models are depicting a quiet next 10 days to two weeks. That’s a surprise for this time of year.

Hurricane Sally did the same thing to the house I was living in at the time. A massive oak came down in the living room and basic split the house in half. Ever since, I've been terrified of any kind of bad weather.
