The latest run of the Euro is west of the NHC track. The initial landfall is not much different but Euro keeps it going due North through New Orleans and doesn't begin moving NNE/NE until near Slidell.

Storm certainly is starting to spin up. Getting a solid rotation and whats looking like an inner eyewall forming. Next 12 hours will be key.

Meanwhile, Nate continues to look better:

Does “better” mean more or less destructive to you?

Better means stronger when talking about the way a hurricane looks in a hurricane thread.

I think we can realistically expect some power outages for some widespread locations in se Louisiana. Hopefully people at least plan for that. The storm might not be very bad, but life without power sucks if not prepared.

Still missing good deep convection on the east side. Probably losing some of it's fuel out to the NE in that persistent convection over Cuba. Still needs to wrap up all around the center for any suprise big strengthening to possibly happen.

An extra twelve hours down there and things would probably have been a lot scarier when he got into the gulf.

If anyone remembers Cindy it was only a Cat 1 but delivered a solid punch to the nose of NOLA.
