less crowded than summer but plenty of white trash and sluts, as usual.

what a staged joke.
does the storm surge typically arrive mostly with the front of the eye? The lake has come up maybe a foot from noon until now.
not sure how that can happen in such a little amount of time
TWC shows much of the lake as being in the 7-11 foot surge zone. Water is already up about 2.5 feet where I am.

wind won't be your concern at all assuming you're leaving early. The only way you could be in trouble is if we wake up and Nate is a cat 2 or something, which is HIGHLY unlikely.
I hear W and his pops were just seen at Gus' Tackle in Slidell gearing up.

here, for all my fellow weather retards out there.

I think the reason for that re: tornados is because those are generally a surprise and can pop up anywhere and unexpectedly.

I think it's a form of Munchausen Syndrome
quote:
Very deep convective burst with overshooting tops near the center

so do you expect a slight jog west for the new projection?
better = more well-formed
Rent a camp on grand isle facing the beach.

if it misses the yucatan, we may get a hurricane earlier than predicted. The two gifs on this page show more spinning/tightening than we'd seen.
Hurricane watch now in effect

a buddy of mine who knows weather just texted me
"the 18Z runs say Nate will be MUCH stronger than
the current forecast.
HMON, which has been historically low in intensity, is now saying edge of Cat 3. HWRF agrees."
is this right?

damn...water is already up in the lake and surrounding areas. That track would have the east side pushing water directly into the lake. I guess we're actually fortunate that is coming more from the south rather than from the southeast.
